Immortality_by_MrR.avi Info
=================

"Immortality_by_MrR.avi" was created by the following procedure:

1. Record trickjumps in Quake 3 Arena, Point Release 1.30 by using the "record" and "stoprecord" commands.

2. Each recorded trickjump was then output to .tga frames by setting "cl_avidemo" to the desired frame rate and playing the trickjump back from the desired camera angle. I actually created a batch file for this which should also be part of this .zip file. Stick it in your "Quake III Arena" folder and execute from the command line using "recorder <demoname>.dm_66" without the quotes.

3. The frames for each trickjump was then compiled as an uncompressed .avi using "bmp2avi.exe"

4. The final movie was edited together using video editing software. Titles and credits are still frames. The desired audio was inserted as a backing track. The final movie was compressed with the DivX 4.01 codec. Audio is uncompressed.

The "Bullet Time" shot on ztn3dm2 was done by outputting the same trickjump at 91 different angles, selecting the desired frame at which the "freeze" would take place and compiling the different angles sequentially. Pretty suh-weet!

The Trick Jumps
==========

All trickjumps were performed without the use of any physics changing mods (such as CPM or OSP). Only the physics naturally occuring in "Quake III Arena" and "Point Release 1.30" were used. The following cheats were used as follows:

1. \god - this was necessary to perform some jumps and also makes life easier when multiple attempts are required to get it right.

2. \give all - again necessary to perform some jumps where the weapons used are not normally available in the map.

No other cheats were used.

The Maps
======

The following maps were used for the trickjumps:

1. chiropteraDM

2. jaxtourney1

3. lloydmdm1

4. lloydmdm2

5. q3dm6

6. q3dm13

7. q3dm14

8. q3dm15

9. q3dm16

10. q3tourney6

11. ztn3dm1

This is not the order in which they appear in "Immortality_by_MrR.avi".

All add-on maps were downloaded from http://www.planetquake.com/lvl or http://www.iceterminal.com/.

MrR's Background
===========

I'm a 28 year old technical support engineer living and working in Sydney Australia. I've always been in awe of trickjumping since seeing "Quake 2 Done Quick" and toyed with the idea of trying to produce something of my own for some time.

I recently had the pleasure of watching "CxMlSnizh-Fize.avi" and "ProgressiveTrickjumpingByJapex(640x480-WMA).avi" which inspired me to try some of the jumps in these movies myself. As it turns out I had reasonable success and began developing some jumps of my own with some assistance from my good friend [Aki]. I also visited http://boxsocial.org/pimpjumps/ where "drpd" gives some good descriptions of jumps. The rest is history and "Immortality_by_MrR.avi" was born.

There may be room in the world for a trickjump web site in which detailed descriptions of key combinations and techniques for pulling off individual jumps are provided. If the person to do it is me, I'll have to find:

1. Time!

2. A place to stick it on the web!

Additional Info
=========

I've included a copy of the "autoexec.cfg" file that I use to configure my controls and settings when attempting trickjumps. Much of the content has been stitched together from how-to's all over the web. This file should be located in your "baseq3" folder.

Thanx to http://www.planetquake.com for leading me to most of the content I've required to make this movie possible.
