I just dug an old map out of the dungeon of my quake2 days, its one of the few maps I ever did and only has 300 brushes, wich was the limit of the Qoole 2.5 shareware editor I used. Qoole was definetely in its day, the easiest editor for Quake 2 and the only one I can stand to use right now. I am sure some day when I can afford to spend hours and hours studying the tutorials for Radiant I will finally understand it.

The map may undergo some texturing changes in the future and have some ambient sounds or new music added, so for all intent and purposes I guess the map could be considered beta.

Models in screenshots courtesy of http://www.planetquake.com/polycount don't miss out on polycount, some very skilled modelers have created some awesome characters to use and play against in Quake 3 and many other games.

Truth is, even though there is no dep store textures, the scale of the map is very accurate and still provides a good rush. For Quake 3 its pretty cool for a while but the models in Urban Terror make it more like your a swat officer dealing with terrorists. I made a duplicate pak file that adds a new texture that gives the whole map a different feel. Keep that pack out of baseq3 at first then try it out after you get sick of the standard version. I encourage people out there to comment about wich they prefer.

Dstore.zip includes

ut_dstore.txt----this readme

dstore-Readme.htm---An html version of the readme with pictures. To make this work properly extract dstore-Readme.htm and the 4 jpg images to the exact same folder such as c:\ or d:\.

ut_dstore.pk3-------"Department Store urban terror map----alpha" by Mayhem ----extract into your Urban Terror folder q3ut2----"bonus in dstore.pk3"---also contains a new beretta sound effect that makes yah actually wanna use it.

ut_dstore_lazer.pk3--------"Same map but with a Lazer Tag feel"-----extract to same folder as above after placing dstore.pk3 in a temporary folder.

!!!Never Have both of these maps in q3ut2 at same time!!!

Map was created using Qoole 2.5 level editor for Quake 2 and then converted for Quake3 and Urban Terror with the "Q2toQ3A" by David Frey aka Mastaba--- thanks alot Mastaba !

The arena file works on my computer and the maps show up in the front end. IF they don't show up in the Urban Terror map list, just start the game with another map and type in the console:

/map ut_dstore

Use the same map name for either pk3 in use.

Enjoy!
