LONGER DESCRIPTION

This demo version of SimPlates 2000 contains IFR flight data for the state of New Hampshire, only. The
data presented is not suitable for real world flight, but is intended to give you an idea of the power and
value of SimPlates for the serious flight simulation enthusiast or IFR student pilot. With all due respect to
the Granite state, New Hampshire doesn't exactly have the busiest airports or most interesting instrument
approaches, but that just means that we could package together a demo and keep it within reasonable
download size. SimPlates 2000 the full product comes on a single, very reasonably priced CD-ROM,
which we invite you to purchase from http://www.dauntless-soft.com. We also have a bunch of other neat
aviation and flight-simulator items there for download, so it's certainly worth a visit.

SimPlates works with any flight simulator with reasonably accurate airport, navaid, and related detail.
Users have had good success using SimPlates with simulators by Microsoft, Terminal Reality,
Sierra/Dynamix, Jeppesen, ASA, and Elite.

SimPlates are meant to be printed out, not viewed on screen. Use the "by location" or "by Approach Type"
tabs to select the approach you are interested in printing. Double click on your selected approach, to bring
up the internal viewer. While probably not suitable for direct "in flight" use, the viewer will let you get a
rough idea of the plate before you print it. Click on the printer icon in the viewer to print the plate. The
better your printer, the better printed SimPlates look.

The NAVAID tab gives you Airport/Facility Directory type information for NH NAVAIDs. The "special
minimums" tab gives you access to Alternate Minimums, Takeoff Minimums, and Radar Minimums plates,
though these are not included in this demo version. The STARs tab gives you access to the Standard
Terminal Arrival procedure plates--theses are separate from the other plates because the NOS issues these
by general location (such as "New York, New York", not by airport. There are no STARs for New
Hampshire. The preferred routes tab indicates the preferred routes to and from New Hampshire airports-for
simulator pilots, this will help you fly realistic routes. The "information plates" tab gives you access to
legend-type plates published by the NOS to help you interpret IAP (instrument approach) plates--these,
again, are not included in this demo version.

Included in this are about 50 instrument approach plates. The full version, which you can purchase (it's
VERY reasonably priced!) through our website at http://www.dauntless-soft.com contains over 9500. The
full version includes SIDs, STARs, Airport Diagrams, and instrument approaches of every available type
for virtually every airport in the continental United States. An international version of SimPlates,
containing similar data for major airports worldwide, is scheduled for February, 2000 release. Besides
approach plates, the full version features a number of supplemental plates, a complete Airport / Facilities
directory, and preferred route data for the USA.

If you're a serious simulator pilot who is unsure of the utility or purpose of SimPlates--well, consider
learning about instrument approaches part of the challenge of the hobby! If you're reading this, you've
likely mastered the basic straight-in ILS approach. Use SimPlates to help you become a more rounded
pilot in mastering the more challenging NDB or LOC approaches and more esoteric approaches such as
SDF, LDA, MLS, and more. There's nothing quite so satisfying as successfully flying a challenging
approach such as the VOR approach into Aspen, Colorado in blowing snow and minimum visibility
conditions. For those of you who fly for Virtual Airlines or in massively multiplayer online air traffic
control environments, SimPlates is particularly handy because it lets you print out specific approaches on
demand with a minimum of fuss-impress your fellow pilots by announcing "VirtualAir 321 heavy holding
west of GORDO intersection on the published GPS-A approach."

Thank you for your interest in SimPlates. We invite you to our website--if you have additional questions,
just ask us through the support channels indicated there.

Blue Skies, and Fly Safe!
