Getting Started

Minimum Requirements

• Pentium II 233 or faster CPU
• Windows 95 or 98
• A minimum of 32Mb of RAM
• 3D accelerator video card with at least 4Mb of video RAM
• DirectX 7 or higher (DirectX 7a is provided on the CD)
• Direct Media 6 (also provided on the CD)
• 200Mb free disc space on Drive ‘C’

N.B. Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your video card for best results.

Installation

Insert the ARC CD into your primary CD drive that, if configured to autoplay, will launch the installer. If you do not have autoplay configured, explore the CD and double-click the autorun.exe application in the CD’s root directory. Alternatively, choose ‘Run’ from the start menu and type drive:\autorun.exe and press ENTER (where drive should be replaced with the actual drive letter of your primary CD drive).

The launcher provides three option buttons:
1) ARC will install ARC the first time it is selected and will also run the game if it has already been installed.
2) DirectX 7a will install DirectX 7a.
3) DirectX Media will install DirectX Media 6.

Click on the appropriate button to install the software.

N.B. Both DirectX 7a and Direct Media 6 must be installed first if you do not already have either of these components - or a later version of DirectX - installed on your machine.

Starting the Game

The ARC CD must be present in the primary CD drive to play the game and the menu music track. To run the game double click on the ARC shortcut on your desktop or select ARC from the start menu.

The first screen you will see offers three options. Simply click (see Fig. 1) to start a new game.

You will now be presented with a screen displaying the sixteen teams that take part in the ARC League. Select the team you want to coach and type in your name. Once you have typed in your name and selected a team click (see Fig. 2) to go to the Management Console (see Fig. 3) and start coaching.
