Fog of War
In the 3D landscape you can only 'see' what your population or troops
can see. If all troops are killed in an action, you will lose sight of
the enemy and the landscape will darken down. It's always very important
to have knowledge of the surrounding territory and you'd be wise to use
Scouts (built at Trading Posts) distributed strategically around your
lands. The Trading Post itself also has a large sight range.
Using Stealth
Use scouts to find enemy units, and then navigate your armies around them,
if they can't see your scout (He has the largest sight range) they can't
see any of your army. You can also take advantage of all the trees in
the landscape and use them as camouflage for certain Units, particularly
Scouts. If you have a unit or units in dense forest it will be quite difficult
for yoru opponent to spot, though it will show up on his minimap if your
units are withing the sight range of one of his units. Spies and Merchants
are also very useful because they will not trigger an automatic attack.
Scouts have a special alert sound effect that will be played whenever
they spot an enemy unit for the first time. This will also be indicated
on the minimap.

Farms and Food Support
in more detail
Most units have a food consumption rating (usually 1 or 2). Each Farm
has a food support value of 4. This means one Farm can support 4 units
which have a food consumption of 1 such as the Spearman. (Cavalry typically
have a Food Consumption of 2) If you have more units than Farms can support,
those unsupported units will start to take their food from global stocks.
The brown bar overlaying the green bar on your food display shows how
much Farm food support is being consumed. As long as the bar is partially
green, you can support your troops. But if it is completely brown, than
you have a Farm food support deficit, and your unsupported units start
consuming food directly from stocks. When the global stocks are empty,
those unsupported units will begin to starve. Starvation causes units
to lose health and efficiency, but note that a unit will never actually
die of starvation. However, his hit points will be so low, he'll be an
easy target!
Certain upgrades at the Guildhall can increase the Farm Food Support
value. These are important upgrades, if you wish to field a large army
and keep it well supplied.

Attacking
When you order a unit to make a hand to hand attack, observe the intuitive
cursor as you hover it over your target. The Cursor will change colour
to indicate whether or not you are using the correct combined arms strategy.
If it is green, this means you will have the upperhand, yellow is about
an equal fight, and red means you are likely to lose (in which case you
should assign a different unit to attack, or make sure you outnumber the
target considerably!
Healing
Artos, Monks, Supply Wagons and Holy Warriors can all 'heal' wounded Units.
For Artos and Holy Warriors:
- Left-click on the Heal icon.

- Right-click on the wounded Unit and the Green Health bar will increase
slowly.
Monks will automatically heal any Units who approach a Monastery (see
Monk in Unit List). Artos and the Holy Warrior have a charge bar for their
Heal ability, but Monks do not. Supply Wagons can also Heal wounded units
by giving them food. If they have been assigned to Guard units, they will
automatically 'heal' them. Otherwise, you must use the Distribute Rations
command.

Military Experience
Military Units benefit from combat experience; the more a Unit fights
the more experienced it becomes and this gives them better attack and
accuracy ratings. When first created, all military Units are Recruits.
They can be trained at a Training Dummy (built by the Sapper or Peasant)
and they will also gain experience in combat. The experience level of
your units will be displayed in the Unit box in the bottom left hand corner
of the screen when a unit is selected. There are 16 experience 'notches'
on the Unit Selection Indicator. As the unit progresses through these
notches, it will gain in efficiency, improving its accuracy and damage
ability.
Unit Interaction
Units can sometimes talk to or interrogate other characters, buildings
and objects in the game. With a Unit selected, if you pass the pointer
over an object in the game, and the pointer changes to a speech bubble
then clicking on that object to bring up a text box, with information
about that object, character or building.

Hidden Resources
Some resources (some Stone and Gold) will be 'invisible' (ie hidden in
the Fog of War) at the start of the game and will only become visible
when you pass them with a unit.
Sacrificing Peasants

The Pagan player can sacrifice peasants to hasten certain upgrades and
summonings. To do this, select a peasant, and pass the cursor over the
building at which you are performing the upgrade or summoning, and the
cursor will change intuitively. Right click, and the peasant will move
to the building. When he arrives, he will burst into flames, giving his
life for your cause

Artos under Attack
In the single player campaign, if you lose Artos you lose the game. Whenever
he is attacked a special effect will be played to warn you and his location
will flash on the minimap. If he is attacked, you must deal with it urgently!
