Ex-KGB and SPETSNAZ rebels have intercepted a convoy that was bring Alexey Grushnev to Moscow. The convoy was bringing Grushnev from Moscow to Murmansk, when it was intercepted at a Russian Missile Facility in Petrozavodsk. The schedule had the trucks and troops stopping at the base for an overnight stay, and then they were supposed to continue their journey north the following morning.

Once the convoy that was transporting Grushnev was settled in, the rebels stormed the base and took it captive. Their original plan seems to have been to escape immediately, but some troops at the base responded rapidly to seal off the front gates with armored trucks.

The terrorists are demanding helicopters, money, and the release of political prisoners from Moscow, or they will begin to launch nuclear missiles from the base. They say they will launch the first missile at 0400 hours if their demands are not met.
