Path_corner/Rotating train entities:
This tutorial will show you how to use the new newspeed field and and also the rotation commands that are used with rotating trains.
How to change a trains speed:
Create a train as normal, and set up the path corners as normal, now, at the path_corner where you want the train to change speed, give the path_corner entity a newspeed value of the desired speed.
Simple as that :)
Rotating trains:
Rotating trains make use of a seperate entity for the train, this means that you can have several trains going round the same track, but only the trains you want to, will rotate.
- Create a normal route for your train.
- Create your train and then give it the train_rotate entity, this train is no different from the origional train it is just for convenience.
- Now, edit the path_corner that is at the point where you want the train to begin its rotation, so that the manglex, mangley and manglez are set to any number if you want the train to rotate on this axis otherwise, if you want NO rotation on this axis, put -1 in there.
See the bottom of this tutorial for a discription of all the axis.- Now you will need to specify a rotational speed for each axis, do this in the fields xspeed, yspeed and zspeed
NOTE: Putting 0 in here will be the same as specifing -1 in the mangle fields.- Now all that needs to be done is to stop the trains rotation (I havn't figured out how to rotate a set number of degrees yet, but I'm working on it :) )
To do this you need to put another path_corner at the stopping location that has the mangle x, y and z fields set to -1, this will halt any rotation of the train.
