If you wish to use the MGS features, you need to know a few things about quake2 editing. Some primitives like sphere and torus increase the triangle count very much. You must learn to use the "detail" flag in the surface properties as often as you can. Otherwise, VIS computations will get really slow.
Basically, you need to understand that all the faces not marked with the "detail" flag will be used to compute VIS data, that is the triangles you can see depending on where you stand. If you remove the detail flag on the 140-sided sphere (the big one in the spheres room), VIS time will explode, final BSP file will get huge, and the bsp tools will most likely crash ... (try it and tell me)
With the growing number of Worldcraft+MGS users, I've made some testings regarding map files loaded by wc. A sphere with "sides" parameter beyond 11 will crash Worldcraft. But yet, that makes about a hundred faces on the brush.
Other note : worldcraft users must set the "Use float coordinates" flag in the mgswin settings. Otherwise, wc might not load cones and spheres because of "error in the file"
If you are using other editors, bsp, qoole, quark etc .., and have some trouble, please get in touch with me, and we will have this fixed.
