AudioQuake Development Roadmap
===============================

Well, there's good news and bad news...

The good news is that the community have got so ``into'' AudioQuake that
we no longer feel that it is a good idea for us to force a particular
development path upon the project. After 0.3.x it will largely be up
to you -- AudioQuake will be mature enough for you to continue making
your own mods, maps and even totally new games with it. The Level
Description Language is on the way, as is a full release of the Stats
and Servers infrastructure.

The bad news was that, as many in the community know, from mid-2005
things have been very difficult for both lead developers. Real Life(tm)
got in the way big-time and just wouldn't let go. We are both very sorry
that it has taken so long to get to this point, but are equally in awe
of the support and maturity of the community in helping us do get there
in the end.

So, back to the good news: we've done our part and feel that the best
thing to do now is sit back and see where you all take AudioQuake, the
modding, mapping and stats-collection tools and web site. Working on
this project has taken us to many interesting and exciting places and
given us something to keep us going through the difficult times. We are
very pleased that things worked out as well as they did and sincerely
hope that you, the community, have as much fun building on AudioQuake,
or even reimplementing it in new and awesome ways, as we did.

Best of luck to you all -- let's continue to give the mainstream games
industry something to talk about!

Matthew Tylee Atkinson and Sabahattin Gucukoglu, 23/08/2007.
