FPS is currently quite low (average of 7 or 8 FPS at 156mhz in large busy
areas) but the game is still very playable. Speed improvements are
planned, but it is not known at this time how effective they will be.
Meanwhile, a turbo mode option has been added to the launcher. This sets
the following values -

cl_bob 0
cl_bobup 0
cl_rollangle 0
cl_rollspeed 0
v_kickpitch 0
v_kickroll 0
v_kicktime 0 - all the above turn off some player movement
r_waterwarp 0 - disables water effect
r_drawviewmodel 0 - Turns off weapon image
r_maxparticles 0 - disables all particles (blood, explosions etc)

Turbo mode will give a 2 or 3 fps improvement at 156mhz. Those options
and others (see http://www.planetquake.com/console/commands/quake.html)
can also be placed into autoexec.cfg, which should then be placed into
the relevant pak folder (gp:\gpmm\quake\id1\ for Quake). If you find good
options, please let the gpQuake Team know!

0.5 Update - Double size mode added to options screen. This will shrink the
screen down to the third setting, then double the pixels to fill the screen
again. Greatly improves FPS at a cost of graphic quality.

Sound is now here :) No cd audio yet, but it seems possible that .mod's could
be used in the future as cd tracks with little or no reduction in speed.

Loading and saving is very slow. Save time can often be greater than 40
seconds, and load time can be greater than 10 seconds. Switching off
while saving could corrupt your smc, so be careful if your batteries are
low. Also your saved game list may disappear at random (pallet flashing
may also stop working at the same time). Saved games won't be lost, but
you will have to reboot to make them appear. It is also possible that
saves may become corrupted on later levels (it is unknown what causes
this, or why it seems to have stopped happening when testing). Turbo mode
may help as it should reduce memory load (but this is untested).

gpQuake has been tested with both shareware and registered versions, and
with several mods (lots of mods are available from
http://mods.moddb.com/?mf=t&mf_gme=2). Some mods are far too large for
the gp32 and will return an error when loading. Others are set in large
open areas and will run quite slow. You may sometimes need to modify the
mod's config file if important commands have been mapped to unavailable
keys.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Installing and running:

	Put gpQuake.fxe in "gp:\gpmm\"
	Put gpQuake.qbi in "gp:\gpmm\quake\"
Put quake datafiles (*.pak) files in "gp:\gpmm\quake\id1\"
Put other mod folders in "gp:\gpmm\quake\"

Some mods may require a registered version of quake (pak1.pak).

	 Change display detail R
	 Cycle through mod list A
	 Toggle FPS display B
	 Toggle turbo mode Select
	 Load Quake Start
