	 ***** THIS MAP REQUIRES QUOTH AND A HIGH-LIMIT ENGINE !!! *****
================================================================================

Title : Skinny Norris

Author : negke

Website : http://negke.quaddicted.com

Description : A large tower-like Quoth single player map with an
unusual texture theme and independent puzzles/traps
			  routes.

It was originally started for the 768/Vertical Map
Competition held at Func_Msgboard in mid-2007 but for
various reasons could not be finished in time.
According to the rules, all brushfaces and entities
stay within a base of 768*768 units with unlimited
vertical height, and no player teleportation is used.

Most notable feature is the choice between two distinct
routes half-way through the map: puzzles or traps.

WARNING: While the traps section is pretty straight
forward, the puzzles section might, depending on your
secret-finding skill and patience, become frustrating
easily. (Hints: the solution is always in the same area
as the puzzle, so there is no need to backtrack at any
time; if you feel the rooms are too dark to find the
way to proceed, increase the brightness in the options
			  menu)

Thanks : aguirRe, distrans, efdat, gibbie, metlslime and all
			  contestants, Preach, Scragbait, Spirit

Installation and Playing

To be able to play this map, you need 1) the Quoth mod
http://kell.quaddicted.com/

and 2) an engine port with increased limits, such as Fitzquake 0.85
http://www.celephais.net/fitzquake/

or Bengt Jardrup's enhanced Winquake/GLquake/Nehquake
http://http://user.tninet.se/~xir870k/

or DarkPlaces
http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/

Install Quoth as per the instructions in quoth.txt. Then extract all files
from this archive into your Quoth\maps folder and run the game with one of the
following command lines.

Fitzquake and BJP: fitzquake -heapsize 64000 -game quoth +skill # +map 768_negke

(Replace "fitzquake" with the executable of your choice, enter 0/1/2/3 for the
skill setting, set the screen resolution with "-width #" and "-height #" if
necessary, and don't forget to increase the heapsize to at least 64000 KB)

DarkPlaces: darkplaces +gamedir quoth +skill # +map 768_negke

Map Information:

Game : Quake

Single player : Yes

Cooperative : Yes

Deathmatch : Yes

Difficulty settings : Yes

Textures : Wizard/Metal/Base/Medieval mix with four Base trims by
efdat and some modified id textures by me

Known bugs : It is possible to take damage or even get squished on
the descending lift in the SK room (happens rarely).

In the boss arena, the Gug may reveal the secret by
accident with his bile attack. Consider yourself lucky
			  then.

In deathmatch mode, one of the jump pads only works
when pressing the jump key. Some of the jump pads will
not push the player high enough in QW.

Compatibility notice: I made sure this map works in
both Quoth 1 and 2 (as well as 2.1). However, I cannot
guarantee compatibility with future versions of the mod
			  (if there will be any).
