Title : Power Structure v1.1
Filename	: aesop_power (.bsp, .lit)
Other Files	: track33.mp3, sky_day4 tga skybox files, .map file (for your perusal), this text file
Author : Aesopolis (10/16/2022)

----------------
INSTALLATION : Just unzip all contained folders into your Alkaline folder, any version should work fine.

About : This is my second released single-player map. I started making this in February 2022, before my first release (SM217), just a month after picking up Trenchbroom. I pieced it together little by little as I learned how to map. It's been 8 months, far too long for one project. I designed it primarily for single-player, but I threw 3 co-op spawns in for the hell of it. This was intended to be part 2 of a 5-map episode, but after all this time I decided to release it as a stand-alone map. This is why there is a big temple that you can't explore: it's part of an incomplete narrative. It's on the agenda for later!

Tools used	: Trenchbroom, TexMex, Wally, Quake101.wad, qontrol.wad, Makkon textures, Raven glass, maybe a few others
Tested on	: vkQuake, Alkaline 1.1 onward (Ironwail seems to work fine, but not tested on my end)
Bugs : Sometimes enemies will end up in awkward positions, and a couple enemies go full black for a moment. The boxes on the helipad break apart, but not the others that look the same. This was a technical limitation, compiler crashes if I put those everywhere. Optimization is not great. Because of how I built the level, vis doesn't do very much and unreliably hides other rooms. If you have performance issues, try Ironwail. If that doesn't help, I'm sorry!

1.1 UPDATES:
------------

I intended to just fix a few minor bugs but ended up doing a variety of things in the meantime.

FIXES:
-Fixed a bug where a Floyd would get stuck in the ground and shoot at you as an invincible turret. Funny, but prevents 100% completion.
-"Break Time" secret door now stays open like it was always supposed to.
-Fixed (I hope) a bug where you can get stuck on one of the two ramps leading to the end. (Thanks to ColossusAFPS for finding this, but I couldn't repeat it.)
-Fixed the worldtype so the rune key is now a keycard. Because science.
-Fixed the light fixtures at the beginning clipping through the elevator slightly. (Thanks to Nitro for pointing it out.)
-Boxes in "Boxing Match" secret room are now bigger and have items in them, as intended. Before, the trigger for this only worked on Alkaline 1.2, which is in beta and not widely available.
-Added a name for the rocket launcher secret.
-Fixed a spot where you can get stuck behind some rock geometry. (Thanks to Nathnolt for pointing this out.)
-Briefly fixed a hell knight appearing one floor below his intended spot. But he's back at it again. He's stubborn and argumentative, and he won this fight.

IMPROVEMENTS:
-Moved the location of the nail gun, to slightly later in the map.
-Added new encounters for the High on Health secret, and a couple new enemies in the gold key room (hard only).
-Added a few extra boxes for a little variety in encounters.
-Added extra textures in flat areas.
-Restructured the roof just before the grenade launcher room. Also shaped differently up top.
-Added pipes (lots of pipes) as an extra tech base accent (you're welcome, Ricky).
-Made the elevator near the furnace tower switchable.
-Tweaked the lights in the main lobby so they aren't quite so bright. Mild difference.
-Made all monitor screens breakable! (No secret for destroying them all, it's just for the fun of it.)
-Made some of the breakable boxes solid. Necessary because I was hitting my limit on breakables in a map.
-Worked on some of the trim textures, as I used them poorly in the map, but I left most as is.
-Cut a few 90-degree angles to give them less of a boxy feel.
-Removed the bottom part of the skybox from the files, as you will never see it and this reduces file size by a few MB.
