*** Map Description ***

A new theme totally unique to single player Quake - snow! Set in a Winter medieval/fantasy village that is built into the mountains, using Daikatana and Hexen2 textures. All the monsters are in a snow themed mood as they now represent the Wintry region with dirty white fur and falling snow hitting their shoulders. As part of a lost Human war gang, the rest of your group have been killed, and now your alone in a cold, snowy world trying to get home.

There are two maps included. The first is the main level, the second is the end battle which was causing problems when attached to the main map.

Well this was originally intended to be a Q1SP community map project. I expressed interest at Qmap of doing a snow themed episode with levels from a handful of different mappers. After OUM and Nehahra there really weren't any large community projects going. But at the time I was a bit busy, and while people thought it was a good idea, not many really wanted to do any maps themselves. SO, I took it upon myself to do the episode. Originally I had planned three maps and a boss map. The first would be a snow themed fantasy/medieval village. The second a snowy castle and the third a snowy Egypt! But, I had trouble just doing the medieval village and grew very tired of the snow theme, having to make the ground always snowy, and convincing looking transitions into non-snowy areas. Aswell all the rooves and anything facing upwards needed to be snowy. This became quite a problem as I really didn't have the textures to do the job, and couldn't see two more large levels coming out of them. So now it became just one level, a little smaller than expected. I had some compiling problems, and had to split the final battle arena off into a second bsp. Just think of it as one large level :)
If anyone also wants to do a snow map, feel free. I can give you all the snow textures I found (probably everything there is except Rune, which weren't very good anyway, and NOLF which I couldn't extract). Also you can use all my snow skins for the Ogre, Fiend, Knight, Hell Knight, Scrag, Shambler, Vore and Gremlin. It is a pity to see all these nice new snow skins used in only one level.
