	DEATHMATCH CLASSICS
	       vol 1
====================================

A set of six "classic" Quake deathmatch levels (plus one secret level) converted into single player or cooperative speedrunning levels.

----- CREDITS ------

Map conversions : Connor Fitzgerald.

Concept, level choices, permission getting, .map scrounging, gameplay ideas and testing : Richard Skidmore and Connor Fitzgerald.

Beta Testers : Thomas Stubgaard, Michael Hudson, Nolan Pflug, Thomas Bergendorff.

Huge HUGE thanks to the authors of the original maps for giving your permission, help and encouragement to this project. I was amazed at just how many mapping "icons" were enthusiastic about the idea of us mangling their work. Hugs to you all.

----- MAP DETAILS -----

Well, it's called "classics" so we chose only the best, most popular and famous of the worlds hundreds and hundreds of deathmatch levels.

dmc1m1 : basewalk (basewalk) by Preacher

dmc1m2 : Acrophobia (dm7) by (maybe) American McGee.

dmc1m3 : Bloodrun (ztndm3) by ZTN

dmc1m4 : DeutschMaschine (cmt3) by Gandhi

dmc1m5 : Domination (p3a) by Pingu

dmc1m6 : #endif (endif) by Yataze

dmc1m7 : Lost Entrance to the Dismal Oubliette (e2m10) by John Romero

All levels used by permission except endif (as I couldn't find an e-mail address that worked) and DM7 (as I wasn't sure who to contact :-)).

----- NOTES -----

The levels in this episode have been designed with speedrunning in mind. Luckily for us a well designed deathmatch level is often very suited to speedrunning with only a minimum of alteration.

Because this is a speedrunning episode you may find you have trouble reaching certain areas. If this happens then it's quite likely that there is no simple way there. You may need to use some trick such as a rocket-jump, slope-jump or bunnyhop to reach it.

All levels support difficulty settings. Specifically skill 0 (easy) and skill 3 (nightmare). All maps have at least two coop starts.

All records on these maps will, of course, be tracked at the Speed Demos Archive : http://planetquake.com/sda

----- WANT SOME MORE? -----

Think you can do better? Or at least as good? Know a map you think would work well? Don't know a map but want to help with mapping? Or even, are you a mapper that wants to convert one of your own maps?

Well, we called it DMC1 and not just DMC for the simple reason that if these levels prove popular then we'll see about doing another episode. So if you wish to be involved please mail morfans@planetquake.com and we'll coordinate the work as best we can. :-)
