Finally.

Winter has come.

Though it dwelled in the wake of October's storms, lingered beneath even November's cloudy skies and barren treelines, the viscous soup of summer retreated to the southern hemisphere.

It will return, of course, and you will have no choice but to churn the colorless soil; cultivate dull, shriveled plants for the vermin to thieve; grow dirty, tired, and damp with your own sour excretions. All under the glare of that persistent, hateful fire in the sky.

But there's many months between now and then. Finally, you have some rest. You have your firewood, your books, your shelves of preserved goods. You even have your two shotguns and plenty of ammo; the deer are desperate and reckless this time of year, and some roasted venison would end the day nicely.

You've sat down in your chair and are drifting off into a contented nap, thinking of the winter to come, when you notice something strange: Despite the healthy fire not several paces away, an unfamiliar draft has touched your skin; the wind's whispering against stone can be heard.

You rouse yourself from your slumber and there, where a tall bookshelf just stood, you see what appears to be a doorway. Light of some unknown origin falls through, across your floor. The passage seems as though it shouldn't exist at all, but you feel determined to look within, to enter. You rise from your chair, arm your guns, and descend.

Description : Nothin too fancy. Just your darling cozycottage, main corridor, and three monster chambers, each with a different "theme." Also holy shit how did I just now realize I never made a bed for my protagonist. You can sleep on the floor I guess :/

Single Player           : Yes
Coop starts		: Nope
Deathmatch              : No
Difficulty Settings : Not yet, maybe next time. Lemme know if it's too hard/too easy!
Music Track : I didn't configure one but I'd recommend playing something spooky and ambient. Did a round of playtesting while listening to A Silver Mt Zion and that was great.
GLQuake Supported	: No.
SoftwareQuake Supported : No.
Engine Bsns : I've been testing this map exclusively in Fitzquake 085, so I would recommend using that. I'd recommend it in general; it's a great engine. Also there are colored lights in this map, so at least use an engine that supports those.

* Installation *

unzip finally.bsp and finally.lit into your /quake/id1/maps directory
start up fitzquake, pull down the console, and type "map finally"

I've run this map many times without changing heapsize or what have you and I have NOT experienced any vis errors, items disappearing, etc. But if something seems wrong, maybe consider running quake with "-zone 2048" and making sure max_edicts is 4096, if not higher. But it's not that big of a map, so you shouldn't have any problems if you're using Fitzquake.
