Map specifications:
Texture wads; id, fortress

Machine(s) tested (+compiled); An 4.0 GHz intel Core i7 desktop with GTX 960, and a 1.9 GHz i3 laptop.

Instructions:
Insert hc0.bsp to /id/maps/ and subsequently launch Quake. Next, either type "skill #" into the console or go through any one of the four skill-selecting portals in the game's start map, then bring up the console again to type in "map hc0" and you're in.

Info:
"Peripheral Fundament" is a small/medium idbase map with some non-idbase (metal/medieval/wizard) sections. It is difficult, with plenty of enemies in both open and cramped spaces. There are ammo and health supplies though.

The map initially started out as an untitled one. I already made an unreleased test map after playing the game for 2 months or longer. This .bsp file created after said test map was titled "Doorpath" and was going to be named "Destruct Doorpath", and it took 2 months and 2 weeks to complete; first 2 weeks nameless, 1 month with "Doorpath", and 1 month with the finalized name "Peripheral Fundament". That was a long time because I was learning to how to make Quake maps back then and it was compiled a lot to correct errors and for playtesting, so development came to a finish on December 10, 2016. It was influenced by Thehuge's "Dawn of the Dead" and ubitquitous' "Infernal Ascent".

QuakeSpasm was used to test the map with hardly any problem. I did test it in WinQuake for backwards compatability; it was able to run but resulted in a lot of Packet Overflows, and most of them come from Normal and Hard/Nightmare. I think GLQuake and other stock engines experience the same problem but still run it. In conclusion, this map, which is my first, is playable at a glitchy state in apparently all engines, it's just that more modern engines such as the adforementioned QuakeSpasm have less issue doing so.

The .map file is included in the hc0.zip archive as source, in case you want to find those three missing textures (the console says upon loading the map that 3 textures are missing from the .bsp).
