Description : My first EVER 3 completed maps (like, when I first got qED),
put together as an episode and released for QExpo. Also includes
one of the early efforts of Jon "Starbuck" Miles, which I used
as a startmap (without telling him... heh heh)
Additional Credits to : Id software - for fascinating me in those first few months of
                          map editing
                          Matt Tagliaferri - for qED
                          Tyrann - for compile tools
Mexx - For releasing amazing levels which prevented me from
making any more maps like these! :)

Comments : Well, CZG did it with 'Tower of Obscurity' So why shouldn't I? :)
Only I wanted to release something good for q1sp day in QExpo
but just didn't have the time. Then I remembered these
monstrosities... I guess they're good in a nostalgic sense :)
I had wanted to include them in a huge PC called "Quake1B"
(wow, original name!) but then I realised there was a huge online
quake mapping community and people had been releasing maps
better than this for years :) Basically, I just gave up and
started working on standalones... after finding the superior ID
textures, obviously. These maps just seemed to rot away, and I
wanted them to have a purpose! So thats why I'm releasing them
                          now :)

Temple: This was the first custom map I ever saw. My friend sent
it to me just to show me the possibilities of custom Quake
mapping, and how you could do so much more than re-creating your
own house/school. I was amazed by it, heh. I added a few things
to it earlier, to make it a startmap. Hope he doesn't mind me
                          releasing it :)

<Starbuck> are you still gonna release any of that q1b stuff
                          <XeNoN> heh... i might :)
                          <XeNoN> y'know, as a joke
<Starbuck> i should release 'the temple' - its actually the biggest pile of crap ive ever seen
                          <Starbuck> of course - hehe
<XeNoN> I can see news headlines: *Awesome 3 map pack to rival czg07!*
                          <Starbuck> lol :)
<Starbuck> featuring 'the temple' a map with no exit
<XeNoN> Well, I can make that a start map... the version with r_speeds over 2000 :)

Oh, and you may not want to spend too long on this map...

Ware1: My first FIRST EVER completed map. Not just first
playable, but first first. Nothing came before this except a
preset tutorial. The only thing I changed for relase was the map
                          it exits to.

Fate: God, this map had the worst gameplan ever... first a
constrained maze, then a choice of 12 teleports to go though,
only 2 of which prevent you from having 16 fiends thrown on you
later on in the map. In this version, I added a clue to allow
you to pick a safe route, one nailgun, some ammo, and made it so
that 2 fiends will ambush you no-matter what teleport you choose.
                          My second ever completed map.

Blood: I asked another friend to make a level for this TC, and
he came up with the worst thing I could imagine, about a
10-second long fullbright box map with monsters stuck in the
ground. So, I built on it...extending the layout and fixing the
bugs until I came up with a fullsized map. Until this day I'm
still impressed at the maps layout, especially seeing as it was
only my 3rd map. I may make a remake of it some day, losing the
box-room concept / crap textures. For the release I finished the
lighting, added some items and rebuilt the last room to prevent
leakage (it's still the original design).

To add to that, there's a crap plot too: "Find rune. Exit." :)
It was also timed to be released as part of Qexpo:
(http://qexpo.condmned.com), possibly the biggest Quake1 revival
                          ever to be seen :)

Instructions : Create folder in Quake directory called "rte" and unzip the zip contents
in there, keeping folder names. Then, run quake/glquake/winquake etc.
with these commands "-game rte +map temple". The reason you should play
this in a sperate directory is because there _may_ be other GOOD maps in
your ID1 folder with the same names. Overwriting with these would just
                  be stupid. :)

Known Bugs : About 4, all in .bsp format
