Debaser Texture Set v1

=====================================================================================

These textures replace idbase textures wherever they find them, in their eternal
mission to make base levels look sharper and prettier.

Currently there are 300 textures in the gang. They are all TGAs. The plan is to
take on one map at a time. So far the maps that have been dominated are:

E1M1.bsp	The Slipgate Complex
E2M1.bsp	The Installation
E3M1.bsp	Termination Central
E4M1.bsp	The Sewage System
DM3.bsp The Abandoned Base
E1M1rmx.bsp	The Slipgate Duplex	-	CZG and Vondur
aerowalk.bsp	Aerowalk -	Preacher

I recommend trying e1m1rmx for best results. These textures work on most base maps
but some textures may be missing. In later releases I hope to do all the missionpack
base textures, plus a load of other maps. Feel free to suggest me maps to support.
I will feel free to ignore you if the map sucks of course.

NOT SO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. How do I install the textures?

A. First you need a custom engine, and that engine has to support TGA textures. Yeah.
You put the textures in a folder. Where that folder is depends on your engine.
	So check it's documentation!

For Darkplaces, Tomaz Quake, Fitzquake or Telejano
	Put them in Quake\id1\textures\

	For Fuhquake
 	Put them in Fuhquake\textures\
or if you only want them in the original single player levels
	put them in Fuhquake\textures\exmy\
and if you want them only for a certain map, say dm3 or Aerowalk
put them in Fuhquake\textures\dm3\ or Fuhquake\textures\aerowalk\

	And there you go. Voila.

Q.	You didn't do the platform texture!

A.	That isn't a question. The reason for the missing texture (plat_top1) is that it's
got the same name as another lift texture from episode 3 that looks totally different.
So there's a clash and it gets a little messy.

Q.	Can I use these textures in my mod?

A.	Sure, do whatever you like with them, just put me in the credits, and don't pretend
you made them, as they took bloody ages to make. And if you use them in something
	cool, let me know at...

Comments:

There's a bit of variation in quality in this pack. That's because, with 300 textures
done so far, I improved at making them quite a lot. Although I never want to see a
greeny brown panel ever again in my life, it was kind of a fun journey too.

I know there are existing texture replacement packs that cover a bit of idbase...
and some packs have some really high quality artwork. I felt though that there wasn't really
anything that really kept the Quake atmosphere and stuck close to the originals, with
all the textures having a coherent look. The other goal was to do a LOT of 'em, which is
something you can't do if you're doing 16x resolution textures with normal maps and gloss etc.

Before I ramble any more, I'll stop. I hope you like this pack, but whatever you think I'd
appreciate your comments.

Email me at the address above, or get 2 cups and a bit of string set up, I'm down with that too.
