Transformers Quake 2 (TFQ) Version 3d Read me File.

FOWARD:

TFQ has come a long way, dating back to 1998. In that time, I am sure no one involved in the project thought it would last this long. Some retail games pass their prime long before this as well, which leads me to this point: Thank you, everyone involved in the forums or otherwise, for supporting TFQ. I am sure that without the loyal following our little TC has, it would have died a long time ago. Now, we would like to bring to you, a landmark for this TC. TFQ has received some nice graphical improvements due to the introduction of Q2max, an open source engine modification for Quake 2. We recommend using TFQ with Q2max, although this is not a requirement. New features will eventually be seen within TFQ thanks to this engine modification. Now you can create skins that meet the color of your choosing, no longer will you limited by an outdated color scheme, thanks to this modification. I know personally, this has been a highly requested feature, now it is here.

Changes in TFQ v3d:

--Added support for the open source engine modification, Q2max.

--Added new enemy skins, based on Q2max support.

--Added some more enemy replacements (Can you spot them all?) :)

--Added some new environmental effects, based on Q2max. (Blood is now a darker color, to look like oil.)

--Added some replacement enemy and environmental sounds.

--A few player models now have vweap support.

--A new player model, Sawscream, now joins the ranks of the Decepticons.

Using TFQ with Q2max:

1. Download Q2max at this address: http://www.planetquake.com/quake2max/

2. Install Q2max into your Quake 2 directory as instructed in the Q2max documentatary.

3. Backup your maxconfig.cfg file before installing TFQv3d, if you wish to launch Q2max single player games normally in the future.

4. Launch the Quake2maX.exe file located in your C:\Quake2 directory by default.
