program may cause to your system. id software and Valve were not part of the
production of this program, and are also not responsible for it and its results.

The compiled binary may not be redistributed by any means other than

this program, please ask for permission from the authors.

2. Why it was created
---------------------
It was created for the WC2_4_Q1 package, which allow you to edit Classic Quake
maps with WorldCraft 2.x (HalfLife Edition).
As WorldCraft 2 only accepts WAD3s, but the Classic Quake compiling tools can
only process WAD2s, the WAD references in the map file had to be changed.
To avoid manual editing (read: typos) this tool will change values of attributes
as stated in an ini file.
Although it was created to change the WAD references, it can change any other
attribute within a map file.

3. How does it work
-------------------
MapChanger will read the given map file and change all the attribute values
stated in the given ini file. Comment lines within the map file are ignored and
left untouched.
MapChanger will look for the ini file in the current or stated directory first
and then in the program's directory.

MapChanger has some parameters which can be helpful:

  "-?"
list all possible parameters with a short explanation and the credits

  "-t"
enables testmode, no converted file will be created

  "-u"
will undo all previous changes done by the ini file

  "-y"
    assumes YES on all queries

  "-i <ini file>"
specifies which ini file to use, default is "mapchanger.ini"
as you may need separate "mapchanger.ini" for other game/editor combinations

If you wish to create your own ini files, have a look at the included "mapchanger.ini"

4. Known bugs/shortcomings
--------------------------
- currently none known

- The readme could be better ;)
