Resolution: 800x600 Build Date: 12/22/97 By Red Knight

DESCRIPTION:
------------
Ok folks here it is (finally). Prelim 2. However, as you know, we had some serious problems
this week, so not everything we'd hoped to finish is done (see the bugs section). These however,
will soon be fixed in the next few days. Also keep in mind that this is still VERY early stuff
and that the final version will be nothing like this Prelim. Other then that, enjoy the Prelim,
and expect some serious patching of it very soon!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
--------------------------

1) First, be sure that you have the full, registered version of id Software's Quake
(the original) is installed on your system. For the purposes of this install guide, we'll
assume that you've installed Quake into your c:\quake directory.

2) Unzip Prelim2.zip. I HIGHLY recommend using WinZip, available at www.winzip.com. Open up the
file, and be sure to check the box marked "use directory names" when extracting. Extract the
file INTO your quake directory (most likely c:\quake). This will automatically create a
directory called starwars under your quake directory like this:

   Quake
     |
     -id1
     |
     -starwars

If WinZip asks if you want to overwrite existing files (from Prelim 1), go ahead and say yes.
IMPORTANT NOTE!: I believe that the Star Wars CTF guys use the same directory as we do. If you
have installed their mod and wish to continue playing it, DO NOT OVERWRITE THE FILES. Place
   them in a new directory.

3) From Windows (assuming you have '95 or NT), go to the start menu and select Run. Type in:

	c:\quake\quake.exe -game starwars

	or, if you're using WinQuake:

	c:\quake\winquake.exe -game starwars

	or, if you're using GLQuake:

	c:\quake\glquake\exe -game starwars

4) Select the map you want to use by doing the following:

	a) Pull down the console by hitting the tilde (~) key.
	b) Type in map [mapname] where mapname is either: isd1
							  engineer
							  catina
  					   		  temp

5) Enjoy!

CONTROLS:
---------
For now, Star Wars Quake follows the same basic controls of Quake, except in the following
instances:

- Pressing "v" now switches to the external camera view
- Pressing "0" activates the Impulse 9 cheat to give you all the weapons

Notes: The above controls are in the included .cfg file, edit them to whatever you desire.

KNOWN BUGS:
-----------
**READ THIS!!! READ THIS!!! READ THIS!!!**

- At this time, the blaster pistol, rocket launcher, and sniper rifle DO NOT have skins, we DO
know about this and it will be fixed VERY SOON!

- External camera is in a early state, and occasionally gets a little screwy

- Stormtrooper rifle loses the current clip on level_exit

- When switching from the nailgun to the stormtrooper rifle, there's an inexplicable errant frame
before the "activate" animation plays. We're working on it.

- The scope model comes up in place of the super shotgun, and this is a VERY early model. I
didn't discover this was left in until too late. It will be removed in the next patch.

- ISD2 is NOT fully vised. It'll be fixed in the next patch.

Notes: Please do NOT report any bugs that are not game-stopping until after the Prelim2a patch.
       Thanks.

MAP INFO:
---------
Again, these are VERY early maps, but I thought throwing these in was better than nothing.

ISD1: The hangar section of the Star Destroyer level. You can access isd2 through here.

ISD2: Detention area. Not fully vised (not enough time, sorry).

Engineer: A extremely early version of one of the engineering section of the Star Destroyer no
enemies or effects yet, just for looks :D

Catina: An early version of one of the Tatooine levels,

Temp: This is just a test level for the speeder bike. Shows off the effects of TerrorForm.

NOTES:
------
PLEASE remember that this is still very early work, so don't be expecting too much. We're working
as fast as we possibly can, but this is still a huge project, and this is all we have that is
playable. I've included a lot of unplayable stuff in the .zip though, so feel free to poke around
and take a look at a few things. Just don't steal it :D
