f14bam.vcm - Uploaded by Robert Keng at primus@netcom.com, demonstrates the buggy ACMI in MiG-20/Falcon 3.02 and 3.01.01. Description: A red-flag mission setup to practice using the GSh-301 cannon on the MiG-29 Fulcrum (don't laugh: this was recorded about 2 days after I got the game, and I had just barely gotten used to the Fulcrum! This was the 4th practice session, and I still couldn't hit anything with it!). It starts out with my wingie on top of me (C stack) and 2 F-14s at 12 o'clock high (approx. ~9000ft. We were low..). After taking care of the F-14s, we proceeded to destroy a C-130 escorted by a FSX. Walk-through: Soon as the mission begun, I started the AVTR, adjusted the trims and told my wingman to engage. He went after the lead plane (plane 03) while I went after the other one (plane 04). This is where the first incident of "alternate reality" took place. Actual - I Engaged burners, went into Padlock and activated the HMS and went after the less agressive bandit :-) I stayed comfortably behind him taking pot shots whenever I got a chance. Bogus - I pulled up (which I actually did) and then started flying like I was blind. After a while, my plane was suddenly "teleported" behind plane 04 where I should of been. After playing with him for a while and not hitting him, seeing him converging on my wingie, I destroyed him with an Alamo. I then proceeded to engage plane 03 and told my wingie to disengage and he (my wingie) got behind me. Right when I overshot plane 03 (I hit him with guns!!) I told my wingie to engage and he destroyed him. We then proceeded to intercept the C-130 and FSX. I engaged autopilot and it flew the plane toward the C-130 and it's escort. Here's where the sudden speed jump took place. Recorded bug - I disengaged auto-pilot and all of the sudden, my plane went from 700kts to 900kts+ (you can tell when I disengaged auto-pilot by the fact that my plane all of the sudden started pulling up). I then re-engaged auto-pilot after adjusting the trim a bit. After a while, I disengaged auto-pilot and the same speed jump took place again. Anyway, I was now close enough to fire off my remaining Alamo. This is where the 2nd incident of "alternate reality" took place. Actual - I locked on to the FSX and fired off the Alamo while speeding toward the FSX and C-130. Bogus - I kept loosing altitute and headed toward the ground and then crashed my plane. After a while, I was again "teleported" to where I should of been. The FSX had been taken care of, and my wingman headed toward the C-130. He had hit it with a missile earlier. I then fired off an Archer at the C-130. This is where the 3rd "alternate reality" took place. Actual - The Archer hit the C-130 and then my wingman shot it with the cannon. Bogus - The Archer missed big time and exploded mid-air. My wingman destroyed the C-130 with his cannon. After this, I turned the plane around and headed toward the next waypoint. I ended the mission here. Talk about ACMI on LSD!! This is truely bogus! -Rob primus@netcom.com
