int766m@lindblat.cc.monash.edu.au (S Malnovic) was overheard saying:

A salesman...

The salesman was saying: "I don't have Falcon3.0 in stock at the
moment, but we have an order in..."

There is a fsim called "A-10 Tank Killer", but if you like falcon,
you won't like it. It is not by SH. The flight model is a crock. The
HUD is a joke. You get to look at a pretty picture of the instrument
panel, but none of the instruments work (xcept the HUD, whch barely).
Having non-working instruments on the screen is so Mickey Mouse it
is downright insulting. Too bad, the A-10 is a neat plane...

SH supposedly has plans for both an A-10 and F-18 sim, but you'll
have to wait. Rumor also it that their F-18 will be out sooner.

Trouble is, having Falcon kind of spoils you.

Yes, but rumors are free publicity.

Same here, almost (see below). On the last day I had the same mission.
Maybe the Russians got real *scaredy-cat* (re: Cheers :) and decided that
the Kuriles weren't worth the ire of Gavin "Boo Boo" Adams coming after
them :).

For my mission, we were to escort 3 FSX's making a bomb run. Flight #1 (my
flight) was 3 aircraft, basically configured for escort and CAP. I say
basically, because my load out was 2 ARAAMs, 2 HARMs, 2 SHRIKEs, and and
ECM pod of course. Flights 2 & 3 were configured as pure SEAD flights of
two aircraft each, and flight four was a SEAD flight of 1 aircraft.

The waypoints were set up so we all flew together until we were ~40 miles
south of the southern peninsula of the enemy island that was going to be
bombed. At that point, flight #4 was to fly ahead and take out the long
track radar and SA-2 launchers. He would then turn around and fly home.
Flights 2 & 3 did the same; they would fly with us until we got close to
radar, fly ahead, SEAD away, and fly home.

Everything went fine until the 1st waypoint. :) Flight 4 didn't see
anything (even though the long track was emitting enough radar to cook a
turkey), turned around and flew home. I went AB5 and locked on with my
HARMs. At ~25 miles out I launched the first HARM. Tracking it in missile
view, i got within 1 or 2 mile before it ran out of fuel and blew up short
of the target. My next HARm took out the radar and 2 SA-2 launchers. We
flew into the island, picked up lots of intercept flights which my wingmen
and I prosecuted, while the other 2 flights had SAMs and zilka's for
dinner.

After it was said and done, 1 escorted aircraft was able to bomb the
airfield, and 1 of my wingmen returned home. Overall that was my second
most memorable flight (after a 'lone wolf' attack on the Iraqi biological
plant).

I pretty sure it is the brightest intesity blip on the SEA radar. I also
found out about the F1 and F2 function keys. Once you lock onto what you
_think_ is the brightest blip, use the F1 (F2?) to zoom in. You can do
this a couple of times. At this point, the 't' key will only select
targets within this area.

As for harmlessly exploding Harpoons, what do you mean? I've had them sink
a ship (back end drop under water and the bow sticks up at an angle), do
some damage (some superstructure looked exploded and 2-3 bright yellow
'shapes' appear). Of course, I've also had them miss completely (many,
many times). They probably follow the same rules as large land structures
-- x amount of ordinance is required to destroy them.

Subject: Hello??.vcr

I uploaded two more vcr files. The first one is Hello76.vcr, in which I find
an IL-76 sitting on the ground in instant action mode. I fly over him at low
altitude, doing an aileron roll. The lowest point I reach is 24 feet
(I believe).

In the second file, hello25.vcr, I find an Su-25 sitting on the ground. This
time I gradually descend from 700 to 5 feet! I hold my altitude, fly right
over him, then climb out. That whole time my altitude was 5 feet.

[Jeff's note: All files are moved from the incoming directory in to the
proper location. Pictures are currently in the "misc" directory,
but if there are more of them, I'll create a pictures directory.

It's interesting to note, that nobody has uploaded any missions... (hint!)
