Subject: H2H & Stupid M29 1. Is there anybody out there on the Manchester, UK, MAN? Fancy going H2H with a novice?. 2. I set up a ref flag intecept on a M29 and set everything to the most difficult levels to see how long I could last. I started behind and just off 5 about 20 nm. M29 didn't do anything. Closed just pulsing radar - got within 5nm and went to visual. M29 striaght and level. 3nm started to think something was wrong - hit radar and locked on, M29 bugged around abit but nothing special - turned radar off and m29 when back to straight and level. I came in behind and got a guns kill. What haved I set up wrongly - as soon as I'm in Instant Action I don't last that long, normally getting 5 or so kills before I get hit. Hi, I use Padlock often and I'm quite confident with my performance. For bringing myself into a good position for a kill I normally use the 360 degree window (the upper middle one). In the upper right window I only make use of the artificial horizon, not of the red line. The manual says that it points to Your selected opponent, but how should I use that information (the postition of the opponent becomes also clear from the middle window)? The primary purpose of the patch is to correct that annoying problem with the joystick calibration routine. The Rep. indicated that very few other things were addressed by the patch. Michael Lebrun Dragon ------------------------------- From: jay.lee@msbbs.mn.org (Jay Lee) Subject: IRST range I noticed something which I found a pit peculiar a couple of days ago when switching from radar back to IRST mode. You can change the range of the IRST with F8, the same as with radar! I didn't explore it very much, seeing as I was on a bomb mission, but when I had bogeys at 80nm on radar, they also showed up on IRST at 80nm. I didn't attempt to launch weapons (which except for the radar guided, wouldn't have the range anyhow.) I tried to find reference in the manual (whoever is responsible for that going to press without an index should have their fingernails torn off, slowly), but only found references to changing range with active radar. j ------------------------------- From: davidr@wv.MENTORG.COM (David Ransier) Subject: Subject: the Joysticks at SimCon > From: David Chinn > Subject: the Joysticks at SimCon > > is the Thrustmaster still built for right hander's only? > Is the new CH joystick still designed for either right or > left handers? I believe you will find the Falcon was only built for right handers :-) But the real answer to your question is, no I did not see, nor have I heard of a left handed F4 stick from Thrustmaster. Yes, the CH stick is symetrical and will fit either hand. But....(everyone has a big but (Pee Wee Herman))...But, the new stick due form CH next year, the Falcon Block 50 stick, is definitely modeled after the real thing and is a right handed stick. - -- +++++++++++++ David Ransier davidr@pdx.mentorg.com These comments are my own.
