I was under the impression that the 75-100MHz machines were too fast for even that. My old 386-40 was able to use generic game ports after a little tweaking in the CMOS settings. I'll have to buy one and see. Is there a good (cheap) source for the high-speed game ports, or should I just go to Computer City? Is Thrustmaster the way to go? Turner" Subject: Win95 & Falcon3 (wierd!) Hey all, About a month ago, I was having a problem getting Falcon3 to run off a SyQuest drive and 1542CF w/ SB16. Problem was that the entire program seemed like it was running on a 8mhz 286 w/ 1MB RAM! Well I scamed the latest beta of 95 from work and installed it on my system, and oddly the problems goes away! OK, now the sound is sorta screwed up, but I haven't played around with that yet. Does anybody have any clue as to why 95 SPEEDS UP Falcon? Falcon ran fine when my SyQuest ran off of the SCSI card built-in to the SB16-SCSI2 (1510). Oh, BTW, my system is a 486/66 w/ 12MB RAM and a second sound card (ESS488 SB compatible). I think John has two options, one is to get the variable speed card to accomodate the joystick, the other is to slow down the CPU. Of course with a Pentium you may no longer have the option of turning off the "turbo button", I don't know 'cause I don't have a Pentium. This problem is identical to one I had when I tried Aces Over the Pacific (before I got smart and bought Falcon). I had to run it at 8 MHz by turning off the Turbo button. You could try running it under Windows, but I doubt that would solve a hardware problem. [...
