As I see it there are two very obvious areas to focus on, first, improved graphics. SIMS like Tornado are incredibly detailed, what with newer technology, this is an important area for SH to focus on. When Falcon came out the graphics and the SIM were good, the SIM has gotten much better, yet the graphics remain. Time to improve them in a radical manner. Second improvement, SH should seriously consider releasing MORE theaters. Perhaps as a series of stand-alone disks. I would snap them up. The only new theaters have been Kuriles, Pakistan, and Korea as part of OFT, and Bosnia as part of Hornet. Let's be frank, we play the SIM within a theater, once we've beaten once or twice the appeal wears off. We need more theaters. Some aftermarket programs have appeared i.e. Strategic Falcon, but they are still operating within existing theaters. Apparently it is very difficult to create one, as the only after market theater was Chad, and it wasn't completed. So who else will do it but SH? Mapping missions to RF is entertaining only so long. I've gotten to the point that I rarely play Falcon anymore and have seriously considered purchasing Tornado as it has new missions and support being generated for it by weekend programmers. That's all for now. Miles "Coyote" Constable ------------------------------- From: md@littlei.jf.intel.com Subject: Hi-Fi radar parameter settings == No-op?? Hi Everyone: After my recent flagrantly-off-the-point foray off into OS wars, I'd like to ask some more "on the point" questions. I've recently set up my TM stick downloads to give me buttons for control of radar antenna azimuth and elevation parameters. I thought this might help me "focus" on far off bogies and burn through jamming better. I'm not sure it's having any effect though. Has anyone else experimented with these settings in Hi-Fi enough to map out effects the settings may or may not have?? Cheers, Mark. - -- Mark Doran PHONE: +1 (503) 264 7705 Intel Corp. Brad, "Intercept Magazine" is published independently by a company called SIMCAP, out of New York state. The publisher is Eric Pearson. Normally, issues are published about every two months, but subscriptions are for six issues, not for a year! Each issue has a central theme, usually a single game with reviews, strategies, and related historical information. Eric has been rather busy the past few months (I talked to him today) and the last issue was in December. He told me that the latest issue (with U.S. Navy Fighters as the theme) is ready to be mailed. If you have questions about subscribing (it really is a great publication), you can call SIMCAP at 914-338-3520. Disclaimer - I have no financial stake in SIMCAP except for a three year subsciption!
