This is more info on Allied Sams in Red Flag..

Allied Sams are great fun in Red Flag. In attempting
some "escape window" tactics against the opposition forces.
(1 falcon vs 8 mig19s) I can usually defeat a few with
missles, then maybe 1 with guns, but then I usually turn for
home base with 2 or 3 mig19's hot on my tail! (I don't always make
it to this point....)

Well, the fun continues when you speed over your base airport and look
down at all the Vulcans, stingers, and AAA waiting for the unsuspecting
Mig19's. (they will try to follow you anywhere...)
(I don't use the Roland Launchers because I want the action to be close)

It is great fun to watch the formation of little green aircraft
scatter as AAA puffs and stingers reach up to thier targets. While they
are distacted, flaming, or generally losing bits and peices of their
aircraft, The aggressive pilot can turn into them and extract another victory!

Not on the Falcon3 mailing list, please... This is for discussion
regarding the SH Falcon3 flight simulation, not military stories.

Yes, our sams will shoot at enemy aircraft, but there is a catch...

Falcon only calculates AAA and sam info for the immediate area around
your plane... Sort of like a kill box... So if there are enemy planes (or
friedly for that matter.) flying over a sam site far away from you, then
it will do nothing, however unless you change your view to that
aircraft... Have you ever sent in some planes for a sead mission in front
of you, and have them do nothing, unless you change your view to their
plane? wherever you are looking will become the new active kill box, and
then AAAand sam activity will become active at that point.
