Hnatt" Subject: Hornet bugs Brad, I'm not sure about the rolling problem that Hornet 1.02 has, but it definately has the lock-up problem when you switch to external view in ACMI (TACTS). I don't think there's anything that will fix this. I haven't heard any responses to that problem. I got to thinking that evidently not many people must use TACTS in the external mode (although I though it was great for watching carrier landings). BTW, thanks for the F3msl.zip patch on cactus.org (whoever posted it). I tried it last night and it was great! You can slelect which type of SAM-7 you want them to act like (the SAM-7A, SAM-7B, or SAM-7A/B). It feels nice to be able to _almost_ outrun the SAM-7A's like you should be able to. Or watch them run out of gas like they should. Or not be killed if a SAM-7B hit's you on the side or underneath (not the tailpipe). I think this is the best patch ever for Falcon. ANd from what the spec's say, make it MORE realistic! Well folks, I (and several others) posted these files to Jeff Beadle for him to post to cactus.org. I haven't seen hide nor hair of it yet. (I don't think this is Jeff's fault, perhaps the UNIX types running cactus.org don't appreciate Falcon3). The most obvious differences with these programs are with the airvars file. The other planes are really quite different, TU-22s now take very wild (for them) evasive manouvers when you are approaching their 6. And SU27s are nearly impossible to beat when operating at Ace level with an agressive pilot (at least they are for me). The F3MSL program is noticable by the fact that you don't smuck into the dirt as often on low level missions. A change in the archives was preventing cactus.org from being able to mirror the archives. I checked the logs last night, and it is now working again & current.
