We hope you all will enjoy this Red Flag mini-Campaign. We have
tried to make these campaigns as realistic as possible in regards
to actual combat tactics. You must think in REAL terms of aerial
tactics to succeed. If you feel the odds are to overwhelming,
e.g. severely out numbered or outgunned, EXTEND THE FIGHT AND GO
HOME
ALIVE. Remember, we have tried to make these campaigns as
realistic as possible. There WILL be some missions in which the
only winning move is to ESCAPE. These missions have also been
structured for you to actually fly back and LAND on a runway, not
to land on sand or dirt {g}....That's right folks, no "escape
key-end mission". There could be some very nice surprises at your
destinations. {g}

It is imperative to read all the briefings and de-briefs included
with these campaigns. Your briefing commander will be discussing
various flight coordinates that MUST be followed with the UTMOST
accuracy in order to have a good chance of success. A word of
advice on how important flight coordinates must be followed: When
KC and I were designing some of the missions, a stop watch was
used for timing purposes.

This whole mini-campaign takes place in the confines of Nellis
A.F.B. We have tried to follow a semi-story line broken into
several levels of a campaign. The most realistic feel of this
campaign will come from following a chronological order of
missions and briefings. Try not to skip ahead! (When you first
start this Campaign read up to "OPENING.0, then climb into the
cockpit WITHOUT READING ON UNTIL YOU FINISH THE MISSION!) If
you've won the previous mission you should follow with the next
mission number followed by the letter "A" (i.e."NMDL1A.RFM" thru
"NMDLA8A.RFM" and losing missions numbered "NMDL1B.RFM, etc. Note
there are some missions with no A or B.

Briefings will be called "BRIEFING.1 thru BRIEFING.8. The
major difference of a losers bracket could be additional enemy
troops, aircraft, and/or the advancement of these forces. In any
event, the overall briefings will stay the same. Most of your
squadrons goals will be explained after the completion of
your first mission.

All of the names associated with Nellis A.F.B. are real, such
as; Dreamland, Tonapah Air Base and Groom Lake. Of course, names
and Air Vehicles such as "Aurora" are not officially in
existence, they have been gathered in unclassified articles
obtained from various commercial text.

In closing, we hope you enjoy this mini-campaign. We hope we
succeeded a little where Falcon has lacked in respect in regards
to coordinating the different friendly flights to arrive at a
specific destination, at a specific time, using just the right
speed and altitude.

                 Sincerely,

                 Ken "KC" Cook &
                 Victor "CLUTCH" Di Cosola

                   NIGHTMARE IN DREAMLAND

The year is 1996 and the new administration has failed in its
attempt for "change." With an ever worsening economy, most U.S.
military bases have long been closed.

Over the last 3 years, defense cuts have totaled over 120
billion dollars. Pentagon officials as well as military advisors
have continually warned the president of catastrophic results of
a declining military. Some officials (whom spoke anonymously)
have even warned "that for the first time in our country's
history, U.S. soil is in jeopardy."

Secretly, over the last three years the NSA\CIA have linked
together to insure America's forces, with massive "black budgets"
nestled inside its hollowed halls. Also nestled in a shroud of
secrecy, hidden from congressional scrutiny, is "Dreamland."
Located in two areas; one, in a far Northwestern corner of Nellis
A.F.B. and surrounded by the eerie Tonapah mountains. The other,
located somewhere in central Nellis. These two areas have become
America's last hope for it's technological edge....

                           OPENING.0

Lt. Colonel's Kirk "Silence" McGarvey and Amy "Buns"
Nakamura working as NSA company "spooks" banked their F-16C's
north, toward Tonapah's vast mountains. A smile crept into
Kirk's face, the turning capability's of his aircraft always
peaked his adrenaline to a feverish pitch. Flying with a "clean"
aircraft made it all the more exciting. With only 500 rounds
of 20mm shells on board, it seemed you only had to think about
which way to turn, and the aircraft would actually leap out from
underneath you.

On this particular hop, both Colonel's were secretly flying
to test America's next Stealth Aerovehicles. Located deep beneath
Tonapah's Air Base was America's last hope of technological
superiority, Aurora, the "goddess of dawn" was lying asleep
awaiting for her two companions....

                            DEBRIEFING.0

SURPRISE!, the mission you have just flown is a losing mission,
in fact, a suicide mission to stay engaged, you cannot win. We
hope all of you have practiced how to extend and escape from a
fight. If not, I hope your hands are not blistered from your
ejection handles {BG}. From this campaign on, remember to look
for the winners(NMDL#A) and a losers bracket(NMDL#B) of
campaigns. There are a few that just have a single mission for a
given level and have no A or B after the NMDL#.

Winning this mission is defined as saving at least 2 of the
F117s and surviving yourself. If you won, then move on to
NMDL1.RFM

                          BRIEFING.1

"The impossible has happened, America's most secret Air Base
ever conceived had come under attack"....It was hard to
concentrate on what the briefing commander was saying. Between
the visions of four 117's trying desperately to escape, enemy
missiles streaking by, and watching Tonapah come under attack,
Colonel Tom "Hatrick" Taylor's briefing was all but a blur raged
on by the fact of helplessness. 500 rounds vs. an onslaught of
Mig's was a suicide mission at best. Revenge is all that
mattered, this time revenge actually had a taste, and soon a
smell would develop.

The Colonel continued his briefing on how this so-called
impossible event has happened. According to the latest
intelligence reports, a massive strike force was developing right
underneath the administrations noses. During the last four years,
a far north east portion of Nellis A.F.B. was being used by the
Soviet Union as a "show of good faith." During this time, unknown
by the liberal administration, was a massive build up of Soviet
forces. By secretly living underground and inside of many massive
IL-76's, the Soviets have developed a strike force that could
rival any current U.S. operations. While this might have seemed
impossible years ago, the closing of nearly half the U.S.
military bases have played right into the Soviets hand.

The Colonel went on to explain how the first attack was
aimed at Tonapah. Our breaths were held to hear the worst, but to
our surprise it seems the Soviets are still totally unaware about
the existence of Aurora. The administration has also been totally
unaware of this. The CIA and the N.S.A.'s strategy had finally
paid off.

During the attack, the Soviets completely overwhelmed all ground
troops in the area. The runways were spared, hinting the Soviets
needed this piece of property. It was still unclear as to the
Soviets main objective.

Everyone in the briefing room knew our odds and of course our
dreadful first mission. A tiny strike force located at the
southern end of Nellis was mobilized to head up the first few
days. Due to the unbelievable "thinning" of U.S. military
installations and supplies, it remains uncertain as to when
reinforcements would be available. Regardless, our first
objective was to completely level Tonapah Air Base at all cost.
The two Aurora Aircraft were hidden 25 feet beneath the
intersection of the two runways. Before the Soviets could have
their ground troops too entrenched, the runways as well as
America's most sophisticated Air Vehicle must be destroyed.

Commander Taylor went on to brief our mission profile:
"The Latest Satellite reports indicate a small enemy force is in
place. Medium AAA as well as at least one SA-6 are expected. Due
to our quick response strike force already in place, the Soviets
are yet to gain any air superiority, therefore, our air space
OVER Tonapah is expected to be very light. Two F-4 phantoms and
two F-16C's are to ingress into Tonapah Air Base. The two F-4's
will be flying CAS while one F-16 will fly SEAD and drop six
Durandals, while the other fly CAP. Once in the air, your speed
and altitude will be critical. Immediately climb to angels 15 at
500knts. The two F-4's will be 2 miles directly ahead of you. You
will set your course North to W.P.#1 at a heading of 0.5 deg.
Also at this time, scan directly north for hostile A/C, fighter
type only. Do not let your wingman engage in anything less. We
must keep the element of surprise on this one. At approximately
24 miles out from target, the two F-4's will do a horizontal
split and begin to ingress from the west and east. Maintain your
heading and at 12 miles out from target, we hope your Aircraft
will begin to get locked up. At 9 miles out, launch your Shrikes,
then immediately descend to 11,500ft. and air brake to 275 knts.
At approx. 8 miles from your target you will see the W/B F-4 drop
it's ordnance. At approx. 5 miles from target the E/B F-4 will
drop."

"It is imperative for you not only to launch your SHRIKES
ahead of the F-4's, but also to time your ordinance drop
immediately after the E/B F-4 has attacked. Your six Durandals
must hit the intersection of Tonapahs two runways on one pass.
The hidden elevator shafts to the Aurora Air Vehicles are located
directly underneath this area. Our engineers tell us that 6
Durandals dropped simultaneously will completely cave-in the
area and destroy the Aircraft. The enemy should be completely in
disarray by this time. Immediately after you drop your ordinance,
AB5 to the F-4's and fly CAP. Scan the area and be on the lookout
for any fighters. Odds are, at the first radar ground lock, enemy
fighters will have been vectored to your area. Their force size
will be unknown."

"I want to say to you all, that I realize attacking an
American Air Base as well as America's most cherished secret is
difficult to fathom. But, we have no choice. Good luck."

As the briefing adjourned, you wished someone would wake you
up from this terrible dream. No one could ever believe, there
could be such a nightmare in dreamland.

                         BRIEFING.2

The drama being played out was more complex than the most
intricate game. More than a dozen variable factors could
interact, with their permutations running into the thousands. The
game was hide and seek, played over the most secret U.S. Air Base
ever conceived. The losers died...

  The 2 Soviet Mig-27D Floggers and a TU-22 escorted by 5 Mig's
were passing east of the Tonapah Mountain range covering
a front of 20 miles. The devastating strike aircraft were packed
full of electronics gear and piloted by men with years of
training and experience in locating the super secret Air Base the
Yankee's called "Dreamland." At the nose, sensitive antennae were
already reaching out, searching for signals from American radar
transmitters. They would close on those signals, chart them with
great care, but hopefully remain outside the estimated detection
status until the very last moment. Their greatest fear was that
the Americans would use no radar at all, or that they would
switch their sets on and off at random intervals and locations,
which pose a danger of the strike force blundering directly into
armed aircraft.

The first good night sleep in many hours was rudely interrupted
by our scramble alarm. As we blazed into our briefing room, Col.
Taylor was barking out orders.

"You are to immediately get airborne and locate and destroy
all inbound aircraft heading for groom lake. The Enemy strike
force consist of five Mig's escorting two Mig 27's. One TU-22 is
also reported. Altitude is unknown. You must stop this Bomber
Group. Many American lives are depending on Groom Lake's secrets
to stay intact. Good Luck!"

                            BRIEFING.3

Day 3 of this damn nightmare started off with an Intel status
from the deputy CIA director..."A downed crew member from a
Tu-22 was captured during the failed Groom Lake attack.
Classified documents were taken, and it seems our Russians
friends are deadly serious about our Nuclear Power Facility. Last
night Sat Comm. Skybird IV detected heavy troops and equipment
that are closing in on a railyard approx. 70 miles N/E of the
power station. This rail station must be destroyed at all cost.
It has also been reported an unknown force size has already
crossed into the Tonapah mountains."

"It seems our administration is taking a back seat on this
one. They are publicly calling this attack an isolated incident.
They claim, only a small terrorist strike team is responsible.
Due to this fact supplies have been a low priority. We can only
pray that congress as well as the American people realize that
this country's security has been completely compromised."

Colonel Taylor took the podium and started the mission
briefing.

"Captain McGarvey, you will lead a strike of 3 f-16's to take
out the railyard. Your two wingman will fly CAP during you
ingress and egress to target. You will be armed with a pair of
Mark-84's, a pair AGM-45's. You also will have some M's and P's.
W.P. #1 will take you to the rim of the Tonapah Mountains. At
W.P.#2 you will fly directly into a valley. I want you guys on
the deck at 200ft. Friendly troops will be located in this
valley. If things get hairy, try to lure some enemy A/C into this
location. Follow the valley out to W.P.#3. At W.P.#4 maintain
altitude at 550knts, this will be your bomb run. At approx. 12
miles out, start a climb of ladder 60 and climb to angels 12.
Heavy enemy ECM jamming is expected, lock-up of your AGM-45's may
be difficult. Deliver your ordnance and immediately proceed to
W.P.#5. Also, I want you to steer your wingmen away from this
railyard. Due to our supply status, you only, will be carrying an
ECM pod. SAMS and AAA are expected to be heavy. You can only
imagine how important this little railyard is to our Russians
friends. I will remind you again that this railyard is vital. If
the Russians get the majority of their force through this choke
point, our power plant is in serious jeopardy. Good luck."

                        BRIEFING.4

Day four began with our usual briefing from Col. Taylor.

"Today's mission calls for a mop up from yesterday's
successful mission. Intel reports a small convoy of troops and
supplies have made it through the railyards, and are currently
in-route northbound to our fuel depot located in the Northern
Tonapah mountains. We have also had unconfirmed reports of enemy
airdrops near this area. We now have reason to believe the
Russians need this piece of property to supply their ground
forces. We hope our current ground forces in the area can hold
until we can give them support. If we allow this current enemy
convoy to reach the Fuel Depot, you can almost guarantee our
forces will be overrun."

"Captain McGarvey, I want you to rest on this one. Captain
Nakamura, you will lead an escort flight of three F-16's to
protect two F-111's and two F-15E strike aircraft." Kirk thought
to himself...so much for the first women in combat. "The enemy
convoy is located approximately twenty miles southeast of the
railyard. Their support strength as well as equipment are
unknown. Waypoint number two will take you directly to the
convoy. I will remind you to keep your escort aircraft in-sight
at all times. Especially our F-111's. The two F-15's will supply
you with additional air to air support after engaging their
targets. One last thing, once airborne you may see some targets
of opportunity of enemy aircraft. If time permits you may engage
these aircraft. But remember, this enemy convoy outweighs all
other options. Good luck Captain."

A women or not, Col. Taylor knew all too well this was Captains
Nakamura's first combat mission. Due to Captain McGarvey's
present fatigue factor, the Colonel had know choice but to have
Kirk sit this one out.

Mission Objectives: One of the strike aircraft must drop
                    ordinance and land.

                         THEATER BRIEFING

Day five continued with McGarvey playing the waiting game for any
word on Capt. Nakamura's mission. McGarvey hated the down-time.
A television was finally brought into their hidden shelter.
This would be the first time since the attack, Kirk would hear
the happenings of the outside world. As Capt. "Silence" McGarvey
slid into his wooden cot and began to listen, his hand began to
tremble, at about the same time he felt a cold shiver trickle
down his neck...."These so-called urban terrorist as the
President called them, have destroyed two National Television
Ground Satellites dish systems. Approximately twenty five dish
sights have been hit throughout the U.S. ABC as well as NBC
networks have been off the air for two days now. Inside sources
have told CNN, these so-called urban terrorist are not true
terrorist, but true blooded Americans fighting against the
current Presidential Administration and the false representation
the media has portrayed. The sources go on to say the outright
attack on Nellis A.F.B. is just the beginning. They say the
President and his Administration have had a hidden agenda all
along with the former Soviet Union. It also should be noted to
all our viewers, that these now-called "True Americans" are
highly organized and widespread throughout the country. The
National Guard as well as all police agencies throughout the
country have been put on full alert for any further uprisings."
  "In all this unbelievable turmoil comes the most shocking news;
We have just learned that most of the high ranking members of
congress have left the capitol and are heading back to their
respective home states. What this means is still a mystery and no
official statement has been issued by the president. Sources have
told me that for the first time since America's Civil War, we are
seeing the beginnings of a revolt to re-structurize America and
to put this great country back in the hands of the people."

"CNN News will now take you live to northern California"...
"I'm standing here in the outskirts of a small town called
Tonapah California, located at the Northwestern tip of California
and Nevada. Twenty five miles from here lays the baron desert
boundaries of Nellis A.F.B. While usually very quite, (except for
the strange rumbling sounds throughout night the locals here
call, the Governments U.F.O.'s ) this super secret area has now
become a complete war zone. For the last 3 days we have seen and
heard a constant barrage of explosions and relentless air
strikes. Since the first day of our position here, smoldering
smoke throughout the Tonapah Mountain range has been thick. From
my position, a barrage of sonic booms are all too common from the
F-16's roaring overhead. While no official comment has been made
since our first news of a terrorist strike, one could only guess,
this is no small enemy terrorist strike group the U.S. is
fighting against. We are told the entire confines of Nellis
A.F.B., have been completely shut down. A huge mobile force
squadron has taken up positions in the southern main gate area of
Nellis. All in coming as well as out going flights from Las Vegas
International Airport have long been halted. A ten mile perimeter
around the southern edge of this base has been cleared.
Approximately 5,000 residents of this area have been moved to
temporary shelters. This information comes in light of reports
that Russians aircraft have been seen taking off from this area
of
Nellis. No confirmation has been given if these aircraft are part
of the so-called "good faith" divisions the Russians have
stationed here"...."This has been a CNN special report."

McGarvey had to blink several times to become conscious of his
surroundings. "My God." Kirk had trouble with the rush of
information he had just heard. Dam, it finally has happened. All
these years of rumors, I knew the American people were fed up,
but this! The reality of what was happening was overwhelming to
the Captain. Who was commanding the armed forces? It then
occurred to him who was commanding this operation, it had to be
the combination of the CIA and NSA, because the current
administration was being split apart at the seams.

                           BRIEFING.5

....Capt. Nakamura's radio cracked. "Ghost Rider One, you are to
proceed on course 027 and LAND for a rapid re-arm and take off.
Enemy air activity in this area is expected to be HIGH! Once on
the ground, be on the look out for any enemy aircraft. Do not!, I
repeat, DO NOT! wait for re-arm if the enemy shows up. Also be on
the look out for two Wooblin Goblins on final. Two F-15's as well
as two F-14 are also inbound 57 miles out, bearing 185 degrees.
Good luck Ghost Rider." (Make this one a night mission)

                          BRIEFING.6A

Day six began with an all to frequent scramble alarm. Col.
Taylor voice cracked with stress as he spelled out the situation.
"A massive strike force is inbound to our fuel Depot. A large
number of strike aircraft are being escorted by five mig-29's at
varying altitudes.

"Due to the overwhelming force we demonstrated in stopping the
Russians from taking this Depot, they probably now realize the
importance of this site for our survival. It is crucial we
identify and destroy the strike aircraft before they reach their
destination. Due to a communication blackout, immediately after
destroying or driving the enemy aircraft away, do a flyover to
insure our depot has no damage. Good luck."

"One last thing, you will be glad to know our supplies have
become a priority issue. Some AIM-120's have been outfitted to
your aircraft."

Mission Objective: Do not allow any hits on Fuel Depot. Flyover
                   Depot to insure no damage.

                          BRIEFING.6B

Our heads were hung low as Col. Taylor entered the briefing room.
During our last few missions, we were lucky to come out alive.
While we destroyed much of the enemy, many broke through the
railyards and marched through (which we now call) the Tonapah
Valley Of Death. Now the invadable must happen again. This would
be the second time we would have to bomb a friendly
installation.

"I'm sure all you people here realize another tough one faces
us. Due to enemy troops breaking through Death Valley, our Fuel
Depot is about to be overrun. If the Russians succeed, all hell
is going to break loose. The situation is this; Intel reports we
have done much more damage than previously thought. The Russians
need this fuel badly. Due to our improved supply status, fuel is
not a big concern to us. Therefore we are ordered to bomb this
facility at all cost. Capt. McGarvey, you will lead a flight of
two aircraft to destroy the following targets. At W.P. #1 you
will engage a Radar dish just North of the Depot. Were afraid
this sensitive dish could fall into the wrong hands. Use your
Maverick camera to locate the dish. At this time, order your
wingman to destroy the fuel tanks. At W.P.#2 you will engage two
enemy troop columns that are trying to overrun our troops. Use
your Mark-82's to ripple these bastards. You will have twelve of
these, so engage six on the first column and six on the next. It
will be important to unload these 82's quick, due to enemy air
activity, which is reported to be high. W.P.#3 and 4 will take
you in the Valley Of Death. We have a report of some enemy troops
pinning down some of our friendly's. Try to locate this area and
help out. F-15's as well as some F-18's are in your area, and
should keep some of the Russians off your back. Good luck."

MISSION OBJECTIVES: Destroy Radar Dish, Fuel Tanks, and the
majority of enemy troops at the Fuel Depot.

                         THEATER BRIEFING

McGarvey's thoughts were becoming blurred in the recent days.
He had never felt this kind of fatigue before. Fatigue or not,
there was not even the slightest chance he would inform his
commanding officer. For the first time since Pearl Harbor, U.S.
soil had come under attack. He would never quit until these
Russians were completely eliminated.
It seemed the Mig's were endless as well as ruthless. These
pilots had to be very best the Russians had to offer. There was
no comparison to these Mig's versus the one's he faced in the
Gulf war. As McGarvey slowly came out of his "thousand yard
stare," the Deputy CIA director began the latest Intel
briefing...
"First off, I cannot begin to tell you folks the gratitude
this country owes you. You have been America's last hope and star
attraction during the last week. I know most have you have heard
some of the latest happenings of the outside world. Do to our
classified existence here, getting information to you on a daily
basis has been next to impossible, so I apologize for that.
What your about to here is Top Secret Level IV Access. As always,
none of this information will leave this room. It seems most of
what CNN news has been saying is true. A prior Special Warfare
Group has been responsible for the latest attacks on ABC and
NBC's Network Satellite installations. It seems this group was
formed just after the current Administration was voted into
office. Someone out there was very worried about our current
Administration as well as certain Media networks. It seems CNN
News must have got the message very soon after the first Network
was removed from the air waves. This must be why they were
spared." A long over due chuckle began. "It has also been
confirmed that most of the Congressional Staff of the White House
have left for their home states. These Congressmen have done a
great job in keeping the population very calm in this crisis." As
for our President and his top aides, I will get to that in
moment."
"I'm sure you all are very anxious to here the latest on our
own little problems. As you already know our supply status is now
at priority one. We have begun to squeeze our Russians friends in
the wrong places. We have succeeded in destroying major choke
points the Russians have desperately needed to re-supply their
forces. While our Power Plant is still at risk, the odds have
begun to lean in our favor. The most significant intelligence we
have to Date is the situation in Southern Nellis. It now has been
confirmed the Russians have indeed taken over some of this area.
An unknown number of Mig's and a special kind of IL-76 have been
reported. The reason intelligence has been so difficult to obtain
in this area, is because of heavy ECM jamming from the IL-76 that
has been unrecognizable until now. We have finally matched this
frequency and have burned through its signals. A friendly strike
force contingency plan is now under way to clear this area."

"At the present time we still do not know if the Russians are
solely responsible. What we do know is our security here at
Nellis
has been completely compromised from the start. The Russians
could not have done this on their own. Only a handful of top
Presidential Aides as well as the President himself knew of our
security contingencies. At this time those Aides as Well as the
President are in protective hiding, deep under the White House.
As you are probably aware, a very special investigation is under
way. I can tell you the President is still our Commander and
Chief, but this operation is SOLELY and strictly under the CIA
and
NSA's wing."
"In closing I would like say the history of this great country
will never forget the sacrifices you have made. Good Luck."

"I will now turn the podium over to Col. Taylor."

                            BRIEFING.7

A spark of new hope streaked across the Colonel Taylor's face
as he began to spell out our next mission...

"Today's mission will be the elimination of the final Russians
choke points. Three Bridges are to be destroyed in Death Valley."
"Capt. McGarvey, you will lead a flight of two F-16's. Your
wingman will engage the first bridge. Slow your speed to 350ktns.
After your wingmen drops his ordnance turn to W.P.#2 and follow
the road below. At this time you will see a pair of A-10's approx
6 miles away. You will see the road make a hard right hand turn.
At this point bring your speed up to 450knts. Once your aligned
with this road you will start your ingress to the second bridge,
it is imperative that you drop your MK-84 in conjunction with the
A-10's delivery. Start a climb to angels 8 and Set your heading
to W.P. #3. Follow the road to another right hand bend. As you
make your 90deg turn it is imperative to lock your GBU's to the
bridge as soon as possible. Heavy SAMS are reported in this area.
Also be on the look out for some Apaches in the area, they will
try to give some CAS support at this target. As soon as you let
the pair of GBU's go, immediately set your W.P. to #four and
begin a steep climb out over this ridge at max burner."
"On the way home be on the look out for some stray enemy
aircraft reportedly in the area. Good luck."

                          BRIEFING.8A

As usual, the room got suddenly very quit as the briefing got
under way. It seemed each time they were briefed there was
another more startling surprise. Today was no exception. "It's
time we informed you why the Nuclear Power Plant is so important
to the Russians." There was a pause in the Col. Taylor's
statement for effect, even though he clearly already had
everyone's full attention. "The Nuclear Power Plant is much more
than that. The United States has been developing a new kind of
Neutron bomb and it's located at the plant. This bomb is the most
sophisticated battlefield Nuclear weapon in the world. We must
protect this facility at all cost. We are expecting an attack out
of the Canyon in the Southeast area of your map. Intelligence has
reported scattered mobile SAM units. When patrolling the Canyon
stay well below the top of the Canyon to avoid being locked up.
Enemy Mig patrols have also been spotted in the Canyon. Because
of the importance of this mission we are releasing the remainder
of the AIM-120's for our own patrol low in the Canyon. Engage any
strike aircraft headed up the Canyon. If you see any strike
aircraft assume that there are more on the way to the Nuclear
Power Plant. Proceed Northwest out of the Canyon toward the Power
Plant. The strike aircraft are your number 1 priority. Good luck
and God speed."

Capt McGarvey looked over his notes from the briefing one last
time, still shaking his head in disbelief. Where were those milk
runs he heard about in other wars. War? Oh ya, this isn't a war.
It's just an isolated terrorist attack ... ya, right.

Note: You start this mission inside the Canyon. Be alert! You are
already in enemy territory and remember ... stay low.

Mission Objective: Keep the Power Plant from being hit.

                          BRIEFING.8B
The last failed mission felt heavy for everyone on the airbase.
The Russians had over run the Nuclear Power Plant, slaughtering
all but the scientist who knew the secrets. Capt McGarvey and the
rest of the officers had no idea just how terrible that fact was.
The Col. paused for a brief moment before he spoke almost as if
he wasn't sure he should say was he had decided to say. "Due to
the top secret nature of the Nuclear Power Plant, it was
imperative that I keep the following information from you until
now. The Nuclear Power Plant is much more than a Power Plant. We
have been developing the most sophisticated Neutron bomb in the
world there. He who has this weapon owns the battlefield. We must
take out the power plant before the Soviets have a chance to use
it." The Col. certainly had the rooms attention now. "There has
been a special IL76 jamming the hell out us, keeping there CAP
strength unknown to us. To avoid detection we are sending a
strike force through the Southeast Canyon on your map. You will
head Northwest flying low up the Canyon. The Soviets have been
reported to have Mobile SAM sites up in the hills. Be careful to
stay low in the Canyon as much as possible. Once you leave the
Canyon head directly for the Power Plant. If you happened to see
that damn IL76, send him a calling card for me. Good luck and God
speed."

Capt. McGarvey shook his head is disbielf. Suddenly this was not
just the next mission ... it was the most important mission of
his life.

Note: You start out already in the Canyon. Stay ALERT from the
start!

Mission Objective: Take out at least one of the Nuclear Power
Plant towers.

Well thats it. Hope you've enjoyed the missions. Hope the story
line wasn't too corney for ya. Think of it as a Dale Brown after
he goes senile storyline. <g>
