You must copy objects onto sobjects. As someone else said, this will
stomp over some other memory, so is probably not such a good idea.

I've never tried changing the detail level, but then I've always had it
on the highest setting to begin with. Someone on the net said none of
the methods would work unless you had a high level of detail set.

Look at the sizes of the file and make sure sobjects is a lot smaller than
objects. I'd be surprised if you didn't still have two copies of objects.
If you don't, then I have no explanation!

Ok, what's a ".arj" file? And, more importantly, how does one explode this
type of file?

The file f3_kbovl.zip contains a keyboard overlay for falcon 3.1 in two
parts. Both parts are included in Postscript and CorelDRAW! 3.0 format.

The file is in /pub/MSDOS_UPLOADS as of Oct 15, 1992. I checked it...
If you want this and cannot FTP I will uuencode and mail it to anybody
who sends me mail at:

Subject: Falcon 3.01.01

Last night I downloaded a new patch from Compuserve (In the spectrum
holobyte library of the game publishers forum). It changed my Falcon
3.01 to 3.01.01. I'll try to summarize the readme file that came with
it tomorrow (forgot to bring it to work today). I don't have FTP
access, only mail, so someone else will have to upload the patch to the
net.

There were a number of small fixes, including B-52's and C-130's no
longer crashing upon landing, and additional plane types (including UMF)
allowed in Red-Flag. Also, there are no more missions in the Kurile
Islands where you are required to break the ROE to complete your mission.

One thing that caused me some problems when installing the patch was
that my falcon3.exe file had been modified by f3maps, and the patch
install program did not like that at all. I had to go into f3maps and
reset everything to the "default" values for the apply of the patch to
work.

Subject: Fighting Tiger Problems

I've kept up with the Falcon patches and none of them have locked up
my machine yet. BUT! (there's always a but) when I installed the
Fighting Tiger it does the following thusfar...

1- After commiting a new squadron I try to change my pilot information
and the screen goes black & grey and locks the machine up
2- After commiting the new squadron a 2nd time everything is fine
until I try to Abort, End, or Return to DOS via the File menu when
I'm in the plane; again it's the black screen with grey garbage
3- After doing #2 I go to view the end of mission stats & maps and it
locks up again giving me the black screen and same grey garbage

Anyone else having problems?
Just for the record, I have 33MHz 386 w/ 4M RAM, plenty of HD space,
Sound Blaster v2.0 (I think) and I am using QEMM 386 v6.0(1?) and
Stacker V2.0.

hi,

It is such a pain to have to delete *all* you squadrons and
missions after each of 4 patches to the original Falcon 3.0A
Surely there must be a way to convert older squadron/mission data
(esp. squadrons) to the new formats.

This can be done by SH writing a convert utility that reads 3.0{A-f}
squadrons and then writes out 3.01{.1} files.

or perhaps some kind, wizard can decode the data formats and write
a PD convert (in the tradition of FALCNR AND F3MAPS) . thanks.
