Considering however the fact that for a *real* gas like N2 the gamma varies (slowly) with the pressure P (in GPascal) as: Gamma = 1.4006 + 21.8*P (Heat and Thermodynamics, Zemansky & Dittman page 117) and that P is a measure for the density, there consequently is a dependency on the density. I don't want to get to into nit-picking (sp?) about how well the atmosphere is described by an ideal gas. I guess if it is used by the engineers working in the field it is good enough , especially above 36.000 ft. I must confess that when I wrote my original post I had the speed of sound in liquid water (1552 - 1180 m/s) compared to speed of sound in steam (490 m/s). I ran scandisk and it foudn no errors, I deltree'd falcon3 and reinstalled, same problem. The mig103 patch installed fine (love the g limiter!) and falcon runs but the patch refuses to install.
