      NOT authorized to copy, reproduce, distribute, give away, sell or
      otherwise cause this program to be distributed by any means.  You 
      have purchased the Mark II WCS or the upgrade chip to the original 
      Mark II WCS and this is the only way you may obtain this patch 
      file.  Please do not be upset by this - we have reasons for doing 
      this that cannot be easily explained in a short note, just please 
      cooperate by not violating the US Copyright laws with this patch.


This program fixes the joystick routines in Falcon 3.02.1, Falcon 3.03, 
MiG-29 1.01.1, MiG-29 1.02, and Hornet 1.00.  Sign on to any of the 
BBS' listed in the TMBBS.TXT file located in your C:\MARK2\MK2UTILS 
directory for updates we may release for this program.  It removes the 
non-linear movement of the joystick in the game, and replaces it with 
linear movement.  Running TM-STICK  prior to running Falcon 3.02.1, 
Falcon 3.03, MiG-29 1.01.1, MiG-29 1.02, and Hornet 1.00 will work 
equally well no matter which you are going to fly.

Included is the patch to fix the bug in the calibration routine that 
F302RUDD.COM & M29RUDD.COM fix.  This bug causes the rudders to malfunction 
when you select analog throttle.  The bug causes right rudder movement 
to be lost due to incorrect settings in the calibration routine for the 
joystick 2 X-Axis.  This problem has been corrected by Spectrum HoloByte 
in the Hornet Add-on disk which applies the fix to Falcon and MiG also, 
but running this patch will not disturb the fix if it is there.  If the 
fix is not in the version you have this patch or the F302RUDD.COM & 
M29RUDD.COM will fix it.

This patch also removes that annoying ILS view shift.  Now when the ILS
mode is turned on your view will no longer shift down.  It will remain
like a normal view and the ILS view shift up/down will be disabled.
You will no longer need to press keys to avoid your view on landing from
becoming disorienting.

This patch also allows you to set the null zone for each axis of the two
joysticks independently of one another.  You can make the null zones 
wider or narrower on each joystick axis.  If, for example, the Falcon 
starts rolling right or left immediately when you first move the 
joystick just a small amount, you can delay the start of the roll by 
simply increasing the width of the null zone on the X-axis of joystick 
1.  This patch is also a very useful tool to use if you find that your 
aircraft is "drifting" to one side or the other.  By increasing the null 
zone, you can avoid this "drift".

This patch also allows you to set the position of the AB detent on your
ThrustMaster Mark II WCS when using analog throttle.  If you find that
your AB detent is not setting your throttle to (or very close to) 100%
Military Power, then use this patch to force it to do so.  The AB detent
should actually be set so that your WCS II throttle handle in ANALOG will
produce as close to 100% Military Power as possible without actually
entering Afterburner stage 1.  As you move out of the AB detent, your
afterburners should kick in.

To load the patch, just type TM-STICK x1 y1 x2 y2 Th.
The default null zones in Falcon/MiG/Hornet are 0 percent.  The default
AB detent position is at 72 per cent of minimum to maximum throttle travel.  
If your AB detent, for example is causing the afterburner stages to kick in
as you move INTO the AB detent, then set the Th setting to something MORE
than 72 percent, if it is is less than 100 per cent Military Power, then
set it to LESS than 72 per cent.  If it is already close enough using the
default 72 per cent that running TM-STICK sets it to, just don't enter
anything in the fifth position and it will be set to 72 per cent auto-
matically.

        x1 = Joystick 1 - X-Axis (roll axis)
        y1 = Joystick 1 - Y-Axis (pitch axis)
        x2 = Joystick 2 - X-Axis (rudder pedals)
        y2 = Joystick 2 - Y-Axis (ANALOG throttle)
        Th = per cent of throttle travel where 100 per cent (+/- 3%)
             Military Power should occur - also referred to as the
             AB detent (ANALOG THROTTLE ONLY! - not needed for digital 
             throttle.)

        If a value is not specified for any axes, then Falcon will use 
        its default setting of 0% null zone.  But you cannot skip over a 
        null zone.  If you want to set the null zone on only the X-Axis 
        of Joystick A, you can do that by entering:

        c:\>TM-STICK 15

        But if you want to set the null zone on the Y-Axis of Joystick 1
        you will also have to enter a number for the X-Axis of 
        Joystick 1 and so forth.  For example:

        c:\>TM-STICK 0 15

        will use the same null zone (0%) that is the Falcon default null
        zone on the X-Axis of Joystick 1, but set the Y-Axis of Joystick
        1 to 15% so that the pitch up and down of the Falcon does not
        occur as rapidly as with the game's default null zone of 0%.


        For example:

        c:\>TM-STICK 15 15 30 0 75

        This would set the null zones and AB detent as follows:
        
        Joystick 1 - X-Axis - (roll) - set 15% null zone
        Joystick 1 - Y-Axis - (pitch) - set 15% null zone
        Joystick 2 - X-Axis - (rudders) - set 30% null zone
        Joystick 2 - Y-Axis - (ANALOG throttle) - set 0% null zone
        AB detent - set to 75 % of throttle handle travel

        If, for example, you use DIGITAL throttle instead of ANALOG
        throttle you would enter the above settings leaving out the
        %n4 (J 2 - Y-Axis - throttle) value:

        c:\>TM-STICK 15 15 30

        This would set the null zones as follows:

        Joystick 1 - X-Axis - (roll) - set 15% null zone
        Joystick 1 - Y-Axis - (pitch) - set 15% null zone
        Joystick 2 - X-Axis - (rudders) - set 30% null zone

        The Joystick 2 Y-Axis and Th positions deal only with
        ANALOG throttle so they are not needed with digital throttle
        and will be ignored if you set them.

A few words about what the routine will do:
The joystick routine in Falcon/MiG/Hornet reads the stick value in a 
range of -1000 to +1000.  The default null zone in the joystick routine 
is 0%.

This produces a stick value reading on each axis that can be represented 
by this:
                                 Null Zone
     -1000---------------------------0--------------------------+1000

If you apply the above patch and select a null zone of 15%, you will 
have
a stick value reading that can then be represented by this:

     -1000-----------------------|Null Zone|--------------------+1000

What that means is - you will get the same total stick read values, but
they will be pushed out towards the two ends and this will cause a small
area of no movement in the middle and an sharper increase in response of
the stick as you move it to each side, or up and down depending on which
joystick axis you set the null zone for.

To remove the patch, after you finish flying and exit the simulator, 
just type TM-STICK and press the enter key.  You will see a message that 
tells you the TSR has been removed.

For your convenience, this TSR and Ken Richardson's F302PAD TSR have 
been set up to load along with Falcon 3.0 in two batch files located in 
your C:\MARK2\REMAP directory.  These batch files have already been 
entered for you in the K. Run Program option of the ThrustMaster Mark II 
WCS Command and Control Center. You should edit these batch files prior 
to running them to set the null zones to your own individual 
preferences.  The name of the batch files are:

        F30ANLG.BAT (to use analog throttle with Falcon 3.0)
        F30DIG.BAT (to use digital throttle with Falcon 3.0)

Also included are:

        M29ANLG.BAT (analog throttle and MiG-29)
        M29DIG.BAT (digital throttle and MiG-29)
        HORNTANL.BAT (analog throttle and Hornet)
        HORNTDIG.BAT (digital throttle and Hornet)

You may edit these BAT files to change the null zone percentages we have
chosen to whatever works best on your system.

TM-STICK.COM is located in the C:\MARK2\MK2UTILS directory - simply copy 
it to the C:\FALCON3 directory before trying to run the above batch 
files.

Prior to running TM-STICK.COM for the first time, delete your joystick 
definition files in the C:\FALCON3 directory.  You can easily 
accomplish this by changing to the C:\FALCON3 subdirectory and typing:

        del joystic*.def and press the return key

this will delete all the joystick.def files and the first time you fly
a mission after that in Falcon 3 or MiG-29, you will be allowed to
recalibrate your controls just prior to entering the cockpit.  This will
create a new joystick.def file and will ensure that no stray numbers are
left from a previous *.def file to foul things up.

Joystick.def files:
JOYSTICK.DEF - Falcon 3
JOYSTICM.DEF - MiG-29
JOYSTICH.DEF - Hornet

We have included BAT files to load Falcon 3.0 and MiG-29 using either
analog or digital throttle control.  These BAT files will look for and
attempt to load both F302PAD.COM and TM-STICK.COM (for Falcon 3.0) and
M29PAD.COM and TM-STICK.COM (for MiG-29).  If you have not copied these
files to the C:\FALCON3 subdirectory, then you will get a "bad file name"
message.  Please copy TM-STICK.COM to the C:\FALCON3 subdirectory first
and unzip both F321PAK.ZIP F302PAD.ZIP (for Falcon 3) and M101PAK.ZIP and
M29PAD.ZIP (for MiG-29) and copy the proper *PAD.COM files to C:\FALCON3
as well.

F302PAD.COM is located in the F321PAK.ZIP file in the C:\MARK2\MK2UTILS 
directory if you do not already have this patch file installed in your 
C:\FALCON3 subdirectory.  Simply unzip F321PAK.ZIP, then unzip the 
F302PAD.ZIP file and copy F302PAD.COM to your C:\FALCON3 directory prior 
to attempting to run the above batch files.

Note: We may issue updates for this patch later if we come up with some 
      more nifty ideas.  Just check on any of the BBS' listed in TMBBS.TXT 
      from time to time.  We will update the patch as soon as we have any 
      newer, better ideas.  Check with ThrustMaster from time to time for
      any developments on the progress of patches we obtain or contact a 
      ThrustMaster Representative on one of the BBS' listed in the 
      TMBBS.TXT file in your C:\MARK2\MK2UTILS directory.
