Chuck Yeager's Air Combat" pilots! How many of you would like to see CYAC support a 2nd joystick or throttle wheel to control thrust? (raise a hand now if you agree) Hm, nearly all of those who don't have a Thrustmaster WCS, that's what I expected (thank you, you can now take your hands down again :) Recently I wrote a little, crude TSR to do this. I had problems uploading it to neon.rain.com, so if you would like to get a copy, send me a message. The 2nd stick works as an 'analogue' throttle (commanded thrust is proportional to the position of the 2nd y-axis potentiometer (like in FALCON), not as a 'digital' on as in TORNADO. This is suitable for a free-floating 2nd joystick or throttle wheel (e.g. CH Flightstick, CH Flightstick Pro) My copy of CYAC does not display a version number, so I guess it's '1.0'. It's yeager.exe file is dated 4th of June 1991 and is 184310 bytes long. If you have the same version, there's a good chance that cyac_2j.com will work with your copy of CYAC. FSP is an alternate anonymous file transfer protocol that should be available on most systems. They can also be accessed by sending mail to ftp-server@caprica.com, send 'help' in the subject line for more info. And the archive is available using gopher to gopher.caprica.com. The archives reside in - /pub/fsp_only/mirrors/falcon3, /pub/fsp_only/mirrors/hitech-sim and /pub/fsp_only/mirrors/thrustmaster. All three have incoming directories that are upload enabled.
