Hello Quake fans!

Three new groups for Quake have just been created!  Thanks to all people
who voted for these groups.  They will hopefully serve us well and become
the main discussion groups for Quake.

These three groups are:
 rec.games.computer.quake.announce Info/FAQ/announcements about Quake. (Moderated)
 rec.games.computer.quake.editing  Editing and hacking Quake-related files.
 rec.games.computer.quake.misc     General discussion about Quake.

For the moment, the only group in which discussion could be meaningful is
rec.games.computer.quake.misc.  I encourage all readers of alt.games.quake
to use this new group as soon as possible.  The .editing group will be used
later, when more information is available.  The .announce group (which is
moderated) is only for important announcements, and I don't think there is
anything important for the moment - apart from the fact that the groups
have been created, of course.

If the groups haven't been created yet at your site, wait a few days before
doing anything.  If they don't appear next week, then you should request
them from your sysadmin.  The official control messages for the creation of
these groups have been sent by the moderator of news.announce.newgroup today
at 15:30:06 GMT.  It may take some time for them to reach your site, and for
your local news administrator to create the groups, so don't panic if you
don't get the groups right now.
