My company makes InterChange, a Windows and SGI program that
translates between more than forty 3D file formats. 

We're investigating how we might support game formats like Doom
wad files.  If anyone would like to discuss the best ways we 
could do this, please respond in private e-mail.

InterChange

InterChange is a system of translators that work together to translate
polygonal geometry including sub-object hierarchy, materials, rotational
centers and more.  A typical translator reads and writes a given format,
and any format can be converted to any other format.

Syndesis Corporation announces the release of version 3.1 of 
InterChange(TM), its professional system for sharing models
between 3D modeling and animation programs.

Sharing data between programs and platforms is a pressing
concern of multimedia artists.  Most 3D programs have their
own proprietary file format.  With a tool that translates 
between 3D model file formats, animators can save the time
of re-creating the model in another 3D program on another
platform.  With InterChange, 3D artists can work together
on the same project even if they use incompatible 3D programs.

InterChange for Windows has a retail price of $495 and 
is available now.  InterChange works under Windows 3.x, 
Win95 and Windows NT. 

For a limited time, if you purchase InterChange directly from 
Syndesis, it includes all three Syndesis CDROM collections of 
3D models, including Syndesis 3D-ROM Volume I, Volume II and 
Syndesis Avalon, for a total of more than 2,000 models.

Also, owners of InterChange for the Amiga can receive a $100
discount if they'd like to trade up to the Windows version.

InterChange for Silicon Graphics IRIX has a retail price of $1,495
and will be available in July 1996.   Direct purchasers of the 
Windows version can receive a full credit for the purchase price 
against a purchase of the SGI version.

InterChange for IRIX includes a Motif user interface for
easy selection and batch conversion of models, as well as a
full command-line interface in the traditional Unix style.
