Several Total Conversions have been set up for the afformentioned Games, and have been shut down by their respectives companies due to legal rights. While they are legally correct and clear, I believe it is petty to shut down a non profit organisation try to have and deliver some fun. The first was LucasArts, not allowing a Star Wars TC to even commence opperation. No one thought much of it. Next came 20th Century Fox (The worst in my opinion) attacking every Aliens TC on every game they could find. All the hard work and anticipation that went into these TC's was lost and forgotten, hopefully to be found later in the recesses of a long forgotten laptop or 3.5 inch floppy. Several other companies followed suit and closed TC's down (Midway and GT Interactive two name just 2). What are they trying to achieve by this. Due credit and thanks has been given where all is due. Sure, some infringements may have been broken, but this is for fun! It is not going to be sold for profit anywhere! Perhaps 20th century fox are worried that the TC's WILL outdo Alien Trilogy 3D. And they will. My advice to anyone aspiring to attempt a TC : don't advertise, just release it and claim ignorance. I hope that someone out there will read this and instead of pressing charges they will take the advice and loosen their grip of stupidity.
