0. What's New?

Not much, besides some bugs fixed. No longer does idclip-ing cause
the computer to lock up: it causes the camera to become stationary
until you move.

There is still a bug, that I plan to fix for v1.3.
Replaying & Recording LMPs, as well as multiplayer, doesn't really work
due to fiddling w/ weapon switching routines.
I will work this out.

NEW! The CornerCam mode: Hit your chasecam-toggle key
while zooming out to enable this!
(It doesn't look as fabulous as I had hoped: oh well)

1. Who is Andy Kempling

You can get in thouch with us through e-mail at scotty_1234@hotmail.com
or at our website, at http://www.frag.com/3dnet/scotty/

2. What is the Chasecam?

The chasecam is an alternate in-game view for doom. Instead of seeing
from the marines eyes, you see from behind him. This allows you to see
more in game, get a new perspective on fighting.....

it also gives you a gool look as to what you look like from the rear ;)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
3. How does it work?

Well, the calculations are actually quite complex. The game calculates
an 'ideal' camera position from sector and player data, then uses that
position to determine the 'real' position of the camera. It then
renders the view with respect to that position. If you REALLY want to
know, check out the source code.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
4. How to I use the chasecam?

To use the chasecam, start up chase.exe and start or load a game, or
load up a demo. (NOTE: the autodemos included in doom2 will not work!)
While in the game, hit F5 to toggle on/off the chasecam.
cool, huh? Press F5 again to go back to normal view.

If you go to Options/configure, you can also set another key to toggle
on and off the chasecam.

5. Troubleshooting

Ok. You MUST have in the directory:
	chase.exe
	flame.wad
	playback.wad
	doomc.i
	any IWAD

any IWAD is one of the following:
	DOOM2.wad
	TNT.wad
	PLUTONIA.wad

If you do not have an IWAD (ie. you don't have doom), you obviously
can't play. Duh. Go buy doom.
If you are missing one of the first four, you must download this mod
again. You may also have this file in the directory...but it's not
necessary.

If the Cam causes Doom to: Freeze. Shake. Bomb out.
Contact me right away with infomation pertaining to the bug, namely:
	The IWAD you are using
Your computer info (speed, ram, OS)
The level && part of the level it froze on
How it froze (in ceiling, in floor, in wall?)

Occasionally, you might see a HOM due to the cam, for example getting
the chainsaw on map01. This is unavoidable. I have, however, tried
to limit it. Please do not report these to me. (unless it's one
fracking huge HOM)

The chasecam may lag Doom to hell, especially if you back up against
a wall, and or have a low end pentium (I don't reccomend this for
486rs: too slow) This is due to the extensive calulations required
to calculate the ideal distance. To speed things up, but decrease
the calculation quality, edit CCDeltaDist= 1000 in the doomc.i file.
Lower is faster. Higher is better quality.
People tell me that it still looks good at 100 or 50.
I don't know: mine works fast && fine at 1000, so I don't mess w/ it

If you keep it above, say, 200, things shouldn't be too bad.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Misc stuff

Use the command-line parm -chaser to start w/ the chasecam on.
I haven't tested this yet, so it may not work. If it doesn't then too
bad. Just hit F5 once you get in game.

When stepping into the water, walking the water, or stepping out of the
water, listen to the new sounds!
Sounds are from DCrawler, so ask him about them (he is linked to on our
web page).

The graphics in the wad (though they are only the test-graphics) are
for our next project: the flamethrower! Look forward to this one!

Also, Fall damage is implemented. If you fall too hard, you will take
damage.

A console I am IN THE PROCESS of porting (which means its not done
so don't email me about it) from WinDoom (thank you Bruce Lewis!) is
toggleable by hitting the tilde key. Type cam in there to toggle
the chasecam.

There is ONE repeat ONE easter egg...for your enjoyment :) If you find
it, email me with what it is, and how to find it. (I wanna know if
anyone does :)
