Comments: First of all, the authors uploaded this in 1998, when - as they put it - doom was "old news". Well, I guess that was true, but we're still playing it! Here's the play-by-play:

e1m1 - "Invisibility": Real short, real easy. If you're wondering what I'm doing at the end, I was trying to get the computer map w/o tripping the end switch. Time - 4:50.

e1m2 - "Roach's World": First of the "complex" maps - these guys like to make things hard to find. Lots of health, ammo, weapons, few enemies - mainly architexture. Time - 19:41.

e1m3 - "NatX-Hell's Handbasket": Another map with lots of narrow paths to get lost in. There's one big open space that cries out for a Cyber or a Spider (or maybe a few..), but alas none are there. Again, I think the authors were more interested in architexture than play. Time - 20:06

	e1m4 - "Roach's Raid": Ok... Time - 20:21

e1m5 - "Ricochet": Barrel tricks. Short enough to be a lot of fun... I let the skulls kill each other - you could do it a lot quicker if you ignored 'em. Time - 11:26

e1m6 - "You Die!": I missed the jump to the blue sphere at the end...oh well. Time - 25:49

e1m7 - "Black River": I like this map, but it's a real pain in the ass. There is a fatal bug if you use the regular doom2.exe and stay in the sector with 4 health packs that sinks when you trigger it. It'll give you "player in an unknown sector type" error and boot you out of the game. The trick is to jump out the window and grab the chaingun and then never go back in there again. Also, you don't want to take on the barons and spider too early, or you'll lower the islands in another part of the map and you won't be able to hit an important switch with your gun. Time - 30:47

e1m8 - "Paratroopers": Another map with a fatal bug - the last sector won't lower when the spider demon dies, so you have no way to end the map. I changed the map in blak18.wad (included) so the player can lower the sectors manually. With that done, the map becomes a lot of fun. I've included 3 demos - a max, tyson, and speed demo. Max - 4:29; Tyson - 15:53; Speed - 1:12.

	e1m9 - "Generator": Nothing special... Time - 2:54.

Summary - An enjoyable wad, marred by some annoying bugs and overly complex architecture. Too easy, not enough monsters.
