Overall Movie Comments:

Anthony:
This has been a culmination of almost 25 hours of LAN time spanning over three
separate days. When I first learned the Waldon was going to be at Bahdko's LAN
party I dreamed up the idea of a Class_Ep movie. Waldon was very receptive
to the idea and I don't think I could have found a better partner.

Doom coop is the sometimes overlooked piece of the "trifecta". It's great in itself,
but when you have a non-selfish partner playing a great wad it is gaming at its
best. All the time I've spent assembling, designing and compiling and I still
find Class_Ep fresh and fun to play.

This kind of rigorous playing is really the ultimate form of playtesting. I'm so
tempted to go back and tweak. Some maps were perfect for coop. E1M1 and all
of Jan's maps were great. Some maps like e2m6 and e2m8 were not so great. They
both had noticeable ammo problems. These problems show up in single player, but
are amplified in cooperative mode.

If your only going to watch one view, then I recommend Waldon's. Waldon handles
the primary routes and is the unofficial leader. He's got that nice John Woo
style kill on the imp in E2M7.

Individual Map Comments:

E1M1

Waldon:
I wish I could have started better. My health went quite low, and I can't really recover on this level. Exiting with 61% isn't the best one could do, but I was just unlucky in this one. The chaingun is a very important weapon in the whole run, I noticed that I was saving bullets so I could use it in crowded situations or against bigger enemies. Getting it on the first level is important indeed.

Anthony:
This map is similar to doom2 map01 in that it is a stock-up level. Everything is there
minus the bfg (only reachable in DM). (Another doom2 map01 inspiration is the chainsaw at the start).
There is a sequence here that is one of the luckiest things ever. When clearing out the red switch
room Waldon zooms in front of me. I almost shoot him by inches as the demon takes most
of the buckshot. Here, watching both views is worth it. I follow that by mowing down 3
enemies with one shot.

E2M2

Waldon:
Oh no, this is the demo where it took 5 sg shots to kill two imps. I remember I had one of those but I hoped I won't do such a thing in a movie. Damn it. Anyway, I was pretty lucky at the slime-demon part. I got used to see 11% health after I killed it, but this time I had some more.

Anthony:
Nothing really special happened here. Just business.

E2M3

Waldon:
I've lost too much health thanks for those demons and I didn't want to take the risk of getting more hurt while fighting the imps at the blue key, so I just fried them. I had to play the rest of the map more carefully than I usually do.

Anthony:
Funny part happens when near the blue key area Waldon gets mobbed by 5 demons.
Meanwhile I'm picking my nose in the corner trying to shoot a measly seargeant
until I realize what trouble he is in. Even then I was leery to shoot in that
general direction. I thought maybe he would escape. Towards the end I get trapped
out of the final area because I didn't pick up the blue key like a bone head.
Waldon does an excellent job of clearing out the area with low low health.

E2M4

Waldon:
Nice shot. I wasted two rockets, but we had good health after the fight at least. I've also blocked Anthony's way in the maze. I do that in real life too, so it's not a surprise :)

Anthony:
We are cruising now. Once you get this far you know you are going to make it
deep in the episode. This level and the next level are fairly easy re-stock
levels. I almost shot Waldon when trying to kill a lost soul. Don't worry
though, I make up for it in the next level. =) A bit of confusion at the
end. I had been checking for one invisible demon that Waldon didn't kill in
the past. Force of habit. On my way back we "high-fived", I suppose.

E2M5

Waldon:
A fairly easy level with a baron I hate near the end. Some drunk search for the exit on my part, but it's an ok run overall.

Anthony:
Oops, did I shoot you Waldon? Lucky you I had some 134% health. This is where
you stock up for the long run. Waldon's route is loaded with health.

E2M6

Waldon:
I had more health through the level in my first tries so I wasn't too panicked when we got to the red key area. That's maybe the most fun part of the whole episode for me except the final battle. Locked in a room with demons and barons is what makes me love this game :)
I give Anthony a hard time running around the last baron hehe. I bet he loves it when I run in front of his weapons all the time.

Anthony:
The health and ammo problems of this level carry over into coop. Both Waldon and I
run out of shells at one point or another. I shudder to think how grossly unbalanced
it was when it was released as classic6. Even the revised Ep version is plagued
with a lot of problems. And fuck that one monster that decided to stay alive. I'm
not sure exactly where but I am pretty certain it was in that outside area even
though I repeatedly looked out the window.

Anyways, I get trapped out of the action again. The level utilizes a rarely used
doom tag which closes the door for 30 seconds and then it re-opens. I've got
to stop picking my nose and pay attention. heh. Close call at the last baron.
Waldon was getting careless running in front of me. He had shit to fight with
anyways. Waldon really has no clue when to back down. In a previous unsuccessful
demo he fired his chaingun after I killed the baron and happened to shoot
barrels behind me, thereby killing me. Rat bastard. :-)

E2M7

Waldon:
This map can't be a problem with some ammo for the beginning and a decent amount of health and armor. It's fun and action filled with lots of monsters. I had a frag I really like: at the yellow door area after triggering the monster ambush, I can hear an imp teleporting on the right side. I just turn and shoot him without aiming, Arnold style :)

Anthony:
Twice I run out of shells and Waldon generously offers to help but I refuse help.
Lack of shells at the end really prolongs the exit. Chainsaw finishes it out
for me.

E2M8

Waldon:
I was really bad on this level in our practice sessions, I couldn't even finish it. I was really tired the last time we played it, but it's a lot easier and much more fun in a movie. I can use all my chaingun ammo finally.
The final battle wasn't planned at all, so I just shot what I saw. I thought Anthony wants some rockets too, but hey, it's not a must :) In the end I just take the BFG and blow the cyber back to hell (and fry some of Anthony's ass with the plasma *cough*).

Anthony:
It's all about the final battle. Waldon gives me a nice show of rockets and serves
up a platter of imp splatter. I'm really tense at this point: almost 3 frigging in
the morning and twice before we died in this map (once Waldon, once me). I really
suck vs. Cyberdemons. So when he chases me I run like a girl. Waldon finishes the
job very nicely with the bfg. I could never strafe that closely to the Cyb.
