Information about the recam:

The recam is of the current(and probably everlasting) nightmare record on Map07.
The Player: Adam Hegyi -- maintainer of the Compet-N Doom Demo site.

D2dq.exe is a (very slightly) modified version of Ddqstats.
DdQStats, a modified version of DosDoom. DosDoom is the Dos port of the Doom
source code, which also has a few other features. The official DosDoom page is
at http://www.frag.com/dosdoom. It was made by Chi Hoang. The modification
for DosDoom to make it possible to start with the right stats was done by
Yonatan Donner. DdQStats is also available from the QdQ page.
Although this is a single-level run; their tools allow multiple level runs.
See the QDQ page for details.
The TAS demo page uses MBF which also allows such runs(with their own tools):
Tools-Assisted Demos page: http://www.doomworld.com/tas/

Unfortunately, the best Quake and Doom runs look easy when you watch the demos.
With the exception of a few... Hegyi's Doom episode 4 run comes to mind, as does
some of the RDE runs; but majorically, they look easy. I actually have a compet-n
record currently, but I will never be good enough to complete map07 on nightmare.
Try it yourself. =)

Thanks to:
Adam Hegyi(ha211@hszk.bme.hu) for inspiration and the demo.
(He personally ran and filmed the D2DQ demo for map07.)
idsoftware for Doom, Doom2, Quake, Quake2, and for releasing the source code.
Yonatan Donner(http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/4704/) for the makecam tool and
his outstandingly informative tutorial.
The DDQ, D2DQ, and the QDQ Team for the demos, the tools, and their excellent work.
The viewers (if any).
=============================
How to run it:
Download nm07-051.zip, the rcm_nm07.zip, and D2dq2116.zip.
Unzip all of them into a directory with the doom2.wad--be sure to overwrite the
cam.cam from the recam; else you will get some interesting results. =)
run the rcm_nm07.bat (or type 'rcm_nm07' at the dos prompt).
d2dq -camdemo nm07-051

You can switch to the player's perspective by pressing "p" and back to the camera
perspective by pressing "c".
=============================
I have also recammed a Quake2 demo(which is easier once you get the hang of it)
with Keygrip2. It is a rough demo(but fast paced) because hadI made it for private
use only; however it was later released. It is of Defiant!_L4L getting 40 frags
in 4 minutes on q2dm3. Not his best work, but it is fun. =)
unzip into your quake2 demos dir and type 'map defiant.dm2' at the console.

thanks and happy viewing!
