Comments: Martin suggested that the 10sectors demo team do a demo pack of Vilecore. Most of the team wasn't too keen on the idea, but I thought I'd take a look at the megawad. It looked intriguing, so I started recording maps...and here they are! None of these demos is very good - basically I went into a map on god mode and worked my way through it to learn the layout; and then I started recording. In most cases, what you see is my very first attempt at a recording - which may be evident when you see all the secrets I miss (and some of those secrets would've been pretty helpful!) and then go back for, and the amount of time it takes me! Though the reviews of this megawad weren't outstanding, I found it to be a very solid wad. Gameplay is interesting, and in maps 13 and 15 it's outstanding. Some folks may not like the textures much, but I always liked the ones used here - and the construction is very good. My one gripe is with map 32. That map can't be done with boom or doom2.exe - you need legacy or zdoom to do it, and I personally don't like to play with either of those ports (in fact, I'd rather play with just doom2.exe). Doug recorded a nice zdoom demo of this map, and I went ahead and modified it so I could do it with boom and recorded a demo with the modified map - which is what is included here. I think the modified map is close to map 13 and map 15 in playability (not my doing - all I did was lower a couple of sectors....). So, to the author I say "good work - this is definitely a worthy wad!".
