Use these new ARCTIC1.DEH and ARCTIC2.DEH patches
instead of the ones included with the scenario. Also, load
PISTOL.WAD after you've loaded either GFX1.WAD or
GFX2.WAD.

The new patches make the double pistols actually shoot
twice and use two bullets, and PISTOL.WAD replaces the
original double-shot sound with a single shot sound. No
more double-shot sound when Nazi soldiers shoot you.

These patches also fix the knife/radar bug, which causes
the radar sprite to appear in the upper left-hand corner of
your screen when you switch to another weapon after using
the knife. This problem apparently is caused by a bug in
Dehacked. Both ARCTIC1.DEH and ARCTIC2.DEH assign
Frame 862 as the next frame after Frame 966, but if the
patches are loaded or saved with Dehacked, Dehacked
ignores the change to Frame 966 and assigns Frame 862
as the fist's select frame. Apparently, since Frame 965 is
the last frame in Dehacked's frame table, it cannot properly
interpret any changes to Frame 966 (the last actual frame
in Doom2).

Saving the patches with a text editor rather than Dehacked
after correcting the bug solved the problem. This means,
however, that applying these patches to the original
doom2.exe with Dehacked will bring back the bug, because as
soon as the patches are loaded into Dehacked, the problem is
reintroduced. Consequently, Arctic Wolf should be played
with one of the Doom source ports (Boom, Legacy, PRBoom,
MBF, etc.) which load .deh patches along with wads and
bypass the use of Dehacked.

Thanks to Air Wolf <Redsoviet@geocities.com> for these
modifications.
